  1. Republicans have generally held a harder line against Castro than Democrats have.  If someone considers that the most important issue, they are more likely to vote Republican.

  2. Because Castro promised CHANGE...and he gave it to the people....and they lived in poverty since.....they know what socialist CHANGE can do...

  3. Not all of them are. But the ones who are most likely have reasons related to communism. Cuba is a communist country; most Cuban-Americans who escaped from Cuba to America did so because they found living under communism to be intolerable. Many people on the left (including some Democrats) do not share this aversion to the Castros and communism. These anti-communists have found more support in their opposition to Fidel among Republicans and conservatives than among Democrats and liberals.

  4. Because the Republicans have maintained sanctions against Cuba.

  5. They were raised to fallow the father figure that knows best like Castro. The America Democrat fallow representatives not father figures that know best.

  6. Because the ones that are here hate communism and republicans are the most 'free market' and supposedly 'small government' (though their last few presidents have increased government size).  They are also primarily Roman Catholics so they are socially conservative as well.

  7. They are logical, not emotional.

  8. Because they hold JFK and the Democrats responsible for allowing Castro to remain in power in Cuba due to the aborted/failed Bay of Pigs invasion.

  9. By being illegal citizens, many Hispanics are criminals and Democrats are in favour of supporting criminals.

Much like the American Criminal Liberties Union.

Cubans know first hand what a left dominated society is like, and that's why they left it in the first place.

  10. They believe in working for a living and not wanting to have the government pay them to do nothing like many on the Democratic side do.

They see what socialism does to their country, nothing good.

They see what happens when someone promises change, they lost their land and freedom in Cuba.
