"The governor of every state gets legal counsel and this attorney is part of a weeks-old effort to provide this governor defense in a series of outlandish politically motivated charges," Eskew said. "This legal defense is neither new nor uncommon nor at all political. It is a matter of her job and is not recent and it is not related to her selection on the McCain-Palin ticket."

Van Flein requested a copy of all witness statements and documentary evidence from the Legislature's investigator,

Stephen Branchflower. Sen. Hollis French, an Anchorage Democrat who heads the panel, said he has instructed Branchflower not to comply with the request.

  1. I don't know why they're stalling. But tonight on my local news they broke the story that Palins 17 yo daughter is 5 months pregnant and Obama said hes not going to comment on it .

  2. i know

  3. Because they know that its a load of c**p, and they just want to keep the rumor floating around til election day

  4. Ummm, why is a state that's impossibly easy to run seemingly abound with corrupt politicians? Honestly, outside of Alaska, who has any idea why the Alaska legislature is doing whatever they happen to be doing?

However, your attempt at conspiracy is a sad failure. If this "trooper-gate" has any effect, it's best done a few days after the end of the GOP convention, which means early next week. The shaming of Palin and the forcing of the GOP to pick a new running mate would cost the GOP anywhere from ten to a dozen percentage points. Not to mention, they'd have to rerun the vetting process.

Not to mention, if you wanted a VP pick to be able to criticize openly until election day, you couldn't ask for somebody better then Sarah Palin. If Palin is replaced, most likely McCain would have to go towards a candidate who's needs would be limited. That tends to lead McCain towards somebody who's already ran - Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, Joe Lieberman, Rudy Giuliani, or Ron Paul ( ^_^ ). Since any of those candidates would be an upgrade in terms of prestige and exposure - it would be most advantageous to leave Palin in.
