Why are they charging £50 and £70 for tickets to the ODI in Cardiff on Sept 3rd? Do they want people to attend or not? Rip off big time!

  1. I watched England for only £26 when they played South Africa in the 2nd test at Headingley.

Although i didnt pay any money at all, a friend of mine only paid £34 for the match today between England & South Africa (which i went to and paid nothing :P)

The reason that the ticket prices are so high in Cardiff is because, ODI matches in Cardiff are rare, so the ECB know that fans will flock to see England play regardless of the price!

  2. supply and demand.

  3. It is the greed of the ECB. They don't need the money from spectators; they make more through sponsorship deals and commercial ventures.

The prices are a disgrace, and seem designed to prevent the ordinary man in the street from attending.

  4. that is expensive but not the cheapest surely ? most grounds have a range of ticket prices. The answer is players wages everyone is playing catch up to IPL's megamoney wages.

  5. You know the answer dear, don't attend. But I find it hard to believe that cheaper seats aren't available, there is always a variety at all cricket venues.

  6. you are earning in £ so why you are hesitant spending it in £. even if i convert it in another currency may be Indian Rupee, i don't find it expensive , may be you are only looking for a good ticket, there must be some cheaper tickets but you will have to sit at the rear seats of square leg, where you can't see anything except some motion in the field !

  7. I think I got tickets to Trent Bridge for £50 a head (might've been a tenner for me, 'cause I was classed as a junior!), just to watch England bat for about 10 overs then India score at 2 runs an over (Test match). However, like someone has said before, it's cheaper than watching a big team in football. £50 for two innings and about 6/7 hours entertainment, in hindsight, isn't too bad...

It might've been cheaper back in December. I dread to think how much the Ashes tickets are going to be...

  8. yes that is expensive, it should cost £10 cuz cricket is boring sport

  9. Cricket is a middle class game and so fans tend to have enough money to not care too much.

It is still a lot better value than football.

  10. Cricket in England is worth it, a gentleman's sport in a gentleman's country. You wont get the wire barriers, abusive fans or armed guards parading like little tin gods, just cricket.

  11. In England, Cricket is tha most important game.

  12. Geez that's expensive. If cricket in England is to break out of it's Elitist mold, tickets need to be priced cheaper! Or at least the stadiums should be bigger.
