  1. didn't realize they were, i've never thought that.

  2. exotic to who?   to me they are kinda exotic (which makes many of them more attractive) because they are Different.  different from who?  different from most of the people i grew up knowing.   light-skinned, blonde, blue-eyed people are exotic in some parts of the world.

  3. For the same reason that Americans are exotic to them

  4. Anyone who isn't Blue eyed and blond haired is considered exotic

  5. Because of our history and location. A lot of Filipinos have Spanish (Spain), Chinese, and Malay ancestry. Not to mention the Aeta (indigenous folk of the Philippines) look like an African pygmy tribe.

We become exotic because we're hard to categorize. Personally I am Filipino, Spanish, Chinese, and Indian, and I get the whole exotic thing all the time. But, other Filipinos see me as another Filipino, with the occasional surprised one.

But then again, it depends on how you define exotic. Usually anyone of mixed blood and is hard to categorize is considered exotic.

  6. I wasn't aware they were...

  7. Sorry to be pedantic, but "exotic" means "not native."  The word exotic has been extended to mean "colorful, s**y, whatever,' perhaps because exotic sounds like erotic, or perhaps because "exotic dancers" are not known principally for not being native.

  8. because they have a jungle.

  9. Because the Western world is pretty white, and Filipinos are mixed-race, mostly.  When your culture dominates in one race, other races tend to look exotic.  From what I've heard, white people are considered strange in rural China.

  10. because they are the latins of the asian community
