  1. probably one to keep and one to throw!

  2. I assume its the same as a bridal bouquet. One is for the person who catches it and one is for you. That way you can have your mementos.

  3. one is a keepsake and the other is for your husband to throw.

  4. One is for you to toss, the other to wear on your wedding night.

    Have fun.

  5. There are two so u can keep one and use the other as a throw away.

I would wear one then change it over for the throw. I would rather keep the one I wore all day - for memory sake.

    All the best!

  6. Garters -- the real ones, that actually served a purpose -- were worn to hold up your stockings because pantyhose hadn't been invented yet. We wore them on BOTH legs.

Every so often on wedding magazines and websites, you will read someone pontificating that wedding garters are sold in pairs because one is meant to be kept as a souvenir and the other to be thrown away, and that they should **both** be worn on the right leg because that is "traditionally" the "maiden leg". You'll also read that the garter is "traditionally" blue. Please note that none of this is supported by any primary research or historical documents.

Garters have always been made or supplied in sets of two because "traditionally" brides have two legs. Prior to the invention of pantyhose a bride wore one stocking on each leg, and -- preferring that neither stocking end up pooling around her ankle -- wore one garter on each stocking. If you are wearing garters with pantyhose, I'm afraid there really isn't any "tradition" to appeal to.

As for colour, I have found one nineteenth-century folklore research paper on the subject, and it suggested **yellow** was considered a particularly lucky and romantic colour for garters. Whichever leg and whatever colour, you throw one and keep one.

  7. One is for the groom to toss, and the other is for you to keep as a memento.

  8. One is to toss and one is to keep. Here is a really cute web site where they have the cutest garters. The woman does amazing work, this is where I got mine from. http://www.thegartermaker.net/catalog.ph...

  9. Well given that most people have two legs (apologies if you're not one, but marketing is done to the majority), women tend to wear two stockings. Given that two stockings means two garters are required, it makes much more sense to buy them together.

If you're going to do a garter toss at your wedding you can often buy one on its own (although they're aimed at women who wear lacy underwear, not the sports-bra set like me). That way you don't have to break up a set of garters. And you don't have to throw any of your actual underwear.

  10. I kept one and threw one. I also had two bouquets. I kept the one I walked with and threw the "extra" one. I'm sentimental and keep everything. If you don't won't one to keep don't waste the money and just buy one. Good Luck. Hope it helped.
