Why are Greeks so open about s*x and their sexlifes?

I have travelled around Europe and one difference that i have noticed is that Greeks feel very comfortable talking about s*x and their sexlife. I have noticed the same thing about Italians also. Westerners in general are more reserved when talking about such matters. But with Greeks it feels like they dont see anything wrong with talking about it and all the details..etc..

But no, on a more serious note though, thats not true, Greeks are Mediterranean people, which means that their lifestyle is more open about sharing many things not only s*x but health, school, relationships, friends, work...etc.

EDIT: ASIMENIA THE DUREX WEBSITE SAYS LOUD AND CLEAR THAT IT WAS NOT  BASED ON CONDOM SALES, iT WAS A SURVEY ASKING PEOPLE HOW OFTEN THEY HAVE s*x!!!! DUREX DID THE SAME SURVEYS ABOUT THE NUMBER OF PARTNERS YOU SLEPT WITH, AGE YOU LOST YOUR VIRGINITY, FREQUENCY OF ANAL s*x, ..ETC. do you think those are based on condom sales too?  Go to the official Durex website and see that that the study was based on surveys NOT condom sales.

Its part of the Greek way of thinking to feel free to talk about s*x and sexlifes.

s*x is not a crime or something bad,so why to feel guilty to talk about it?

FOR THE LAST TIME Greek Barbie - the surveys (how come no one asks me for surveys - or anyone I know!?) are based on condom sales and as Greeks use condoms first - Abortion 2nd as a form of contraceptive - of course it's high! Most of the western world tend to use contraceptive pills!! Greeks are having it neither more nor less than elsewhere. As for talking about it ... to whom with whom? If they are young kamakis trying to impress you ... understandable ... if they are married men talking disrespectfully about their wives - not understandable!

Speaking jokingly about s*x - most nationalities have those that do that - i know loads in UK more than Greece!

Also remember - those that talk about it constantly are not normally the ones getting it!

and why should we feel weird when we talk about s*x...... i don;t know someone who hasn't done it... it's not something that you must be ashamed of so thats why we don't hide things and we are free to talk everything... honesty is good you know...

I notice in that link that Greek Barbie provided that Balkan countries lead the list...so maybe its a Balkan thing. LOL!!

Greeks don't talk more or less about s*x nor are they more open or less about s*x and their s*x lives then any other Western peoples. They rank about the same with other Europeans and Americans. So I don't know were you are getting this misconception from. If anyone is really open about their sexuality its the people from the Netherlands.

s*x has always been a huge part of our culture I know that sounds kind of silly but we've always been very sexual people along with comfort in nudity. But like Greek Barbie stated, we're just not that conservative.

And why be so uptight about s*x? It's natural and beautiful.

Also - worth noting - we are currently the most sexual country in the world. :}
