Question:

Why are Hillary's supporters now voting for John McCain?

I don't fully understand why some of Hillary's supporters are now voting for McCain just because he has Palin. It isn't like she's 'finishing' what Hillary is starting. Sarah Palin is a completely different person then Hillary with different opinions and goals.

Wouldn't it make sense for her supporters to support Obama now that Hillary is supporting him?

  1. Many Hillary supporters just don't like Obama so to keep him out of the whitehouse they have chosen to vote for McCain.

I'm registered dem. but I don't vote strictly my party, I vote for who I believe will do a good job. To many are stuck on voting their party instead of using their heads and common sense.

I made my decision after Hillary lost that I would be voting for McCain. Palin only brings that much more to the table.

Obama and his holier than thou attitude scares the c**p out of me. He is a wolf in sheep's clothes.

  2. If John McCain thought that choosing Sarah Palin would attract Hillary Clinton voters, he is badly mistaken.

The only similarity between her and Hillary Clinton is that they are both women. On the issues, they could not be further apart.

Sen. McCain had so many other options if he wanted to put a woman on his ticket, such as Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison or Sen. Olympia Snowe -- they would have been an appropriate choice compared to this dangerous choice.

In addition, Sarah Palin is under investigation by the Alaska state legislature, which makes this more incomprehensible.

  3. Well one I do not believe shes stealing her voters. Women are just as educated as men and the reason.  Why women were drawn to Clinton was one obvious her husband was one of the most successful presidents in the country's history so that did not hurt her one but, in addition she her self highly educated and proven as senator of New York. Now in regards to this, 90% of people probably did not know who Palin was before news broke out, that says A LOT. Women aren't stupid in just because theres a woman in McCains ticket they'll vote for him. Remember " a Democrat is a Democrat and a Republican will sooner become a Poor mans Democrat"

  4. I don't think all Hillary supporters are voting for John McCain.  And for those who are, they are very misguided.  John McCain is not pro-choice, pro birth control, pro women's rights.  Any woman that votes for John McCain in place of Hillary Clinton has not researched the candidates.  Voting for John McCain instead of Hillary Clinton is cutting off your nose to spite your face.

  5. Completely wrong assumption, IMO, any talk of this is just Republican spin.  I believe McCain just successfully lost the HRC supporters with this choice.  I am dying to hear Hillary's response.  She must have swallowed her tongue.

  6. I totally agree. Sarah Palin has no experience whatsoever. And she's a REPUBLICAN!!!! I'm sorry but women who are voting for McCain just because Hillary lost, and McCain picked Palin...are idiots!!! I'm sorry but get over it. Do you really want to see McCain running are country, do you really want four more years of Bush, just because you're bitter.

McCain choose Palin only to try to win votes, not because Palin would make a good VP!!! It's crazy!

  7. im a democrat and was voting for clinton, but im for mccain now, because I CANNOT STAND obama or anything about him. I was for mccain before he made his vp choice, so it didnt change or influence me in any way. She doesnt sound like she is a clinton, she sounds like she may be better, she is for the right way and doesnt back off when she sees a wrong. Clinton has been known to change her words a lot and  doesnt seem as honest. I have only one problem with palin she is not concerned about the polar bears, but she seems okay otherwise. Besides I have no choice, i will never support obama, and i wont waste my vote by not voting so mccain still gets my vote.

  8. Palin has goals?!?!?!??!

  9. because they hate black people

  10. They aren't really, it's a rumor.  Don't be fooled by what you see on Y!A.

  11. McCain is trying to get a leg up on Obama.

  12. A lot of them aren't.  You can't go by this board.

  13. You've got it wrong.  McCain chose Palin because of her conservative background, not because she might bring a few women voters to him.

  14. It's just the opposite for me.  I've been supporting McCain since the primaries, but he just threw my vote away by choosing to pander instead of selecting a qualified running mate.

  15. Well. Women don't mind seeing a woman in a high position in government. Maybe that was a part of Hillary's appeal for some of them.

But nobody REALLY knows what people do in the privacy of the voting booth.

And I doubt that everyone represents him-or-herself honestly here. I could pretend to be a guy who supports Obama, and who would ever know otherwise?

  16. They aren't.

    Don't believe the Republican hype.

  17. That is a rumor that is spreading.  A small percentage of Hillary supporters may go to McCain just because they want a woman in President or VP position.  The majority of Clinton supporters are Democrats and care about the party, what Obama will bring, and change, so they will stay on Obama's side.

  18. I totally agree with you I never understood that concept. And I was so down for Hillary till one, she started crying because she wanted to show people that she wasn't hard (when has a man ever had to cry to show that he's not too hard). And then she's in debt bc of this election, with the economy the way it is, I am looking for a candidate that can save money not lose money. And I dont even believe Hillary supporters are now voting for McCain. Sorry

  19. That will be like 1% of all Hillary voters.

McCain's poor judgment reminds us of his Keating 5 experiences. He probably didnt knew about investigation vs Palin's, much like he doesnt know how to use a computer.

  20. Because those women are smart!  I heard numerous women say that they will definitly vote for McCain today because Palin is on the ballot.

    Vote McCain/Palin!!!!

  21. I'm a Hillary supporter voting for Obama.  Every Hillary supporter I know personally is also voting for Obama.

  22. No to both your questions, Hillary supporters are not now or ever voting for McCain, and a female VP who  doesn't support choice isn't ever going to win over Hillary supporters who vote issues, not gender.

And we weren't crazy about Obamas tactics or timing, we are not all racist for not supporting him, and we didn't like the implication.

His supporters were far from welcoming and sounded pretty juvenile.

So there was, and is some animosity towards Obama, that said, we aren't childish enough to spitefully vote for McCain, we will give Obama our vote, but not our heart or our enthusiasm, unless he can do something to get his followers to understand that older isn't something to be amused by, or overlooked and passed over.  Being young is the easiest thing to get over, it just takes time.

  23. most women are smart enough to know a token woman when they see one....she's no Hillary Clinton
