There is a huge percent of them all over the United States.

And there are so many latin organizations at schools and around communities. So why are they seen as minorities??

I don't know.. What's the exact definition of a minority?

I see people like the Assyrians as a minority, because there is such a small percentage of them left in the world, and they don't even have their own country.

  1. I didn't know that I have never met one.

  2. Because the term "minority" is used by white men who think they are the majority and dominate the entire culture. Think about it, women are considered a "minority" even though they are more than 51% of the population.

  3. There is only 1 majority in the US, which is currently white. Hispanics are a minority because there aren't as many as whites. It's as simple as that. If there were more hispanics than white people in the country then the hispanics would be the majority.

This was the population from 2006:

    Race/Ethnicity (2006)

    White 68%

    African American 12.8%

    Asian 4.4%

Native American and Alaskan Native 1.0%

Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander 0.2%

    Multiracial 1.6%

Hispanic or Latino (of any race) 14.8%

  4. there is no good reason. Many white folks are xenophobes.

  5. Because the majority of the United States are White. They say the way things are going. by 2050 Hispanics could be the majority in the United States though. Which I hope happens, then I can get a job just based off my skin color, government funding, private organizations just for white people, and I won't be considered racist when I call a Latino racial slurs and not be prosecuted for a hate crime.
