  1. Not all irish are catholic but the majoriy are.

What have you got against catholics?

Also the catholic church in ireland was mainly present in the form of monastic orders and the church itself was a celtic catholic form that was not that much affiliated with rome

  2. That particular King Henry was King Henry II, not King Henry VIII.    It wasn't until the reign of Henry VIII's son, Edward that a real effort was made to change the church in England & its practices.  The simple reason Ireland remained with a majority Catholic population is because nobody really made an effort to convert the ordinary Irish people, the only ones who benefited from changing their religion were people in positions of power, most of whom were members of the aristocracy.

  3. Because King Henry was also a Catholic. All kings were until the reformation under Henry VIII would be my educated guess to you.

  4. hi you

because all kings and queens where catholic till the Reformation and to stops wars between Ireland and the UK pope Adrian gave king Henry Ireland only it started more wars and trouble then it was meant to stop

  5. Because, Roman Catholicism is the one true faith!

  6. since the plantations in the 16th century, england attempted 2 convert the irish Catholics 2 Protastanism..they made it compulsery 2 attend the services, enforcing fines on those who didn't. they had rules on pretty much everything, including catholic kids cudn't be educated.parents decided 2 educate their kids anyway and sent their kids 2 schools in the middle of nowhere, out of doors hidden, by bushes, from the english. they were taught by preists. people continued praying and attending masses in secret. many Catholic preists were killed but they still kept their religion...

  7. the pope didnt give us to england.

the irish remained catholic because the english tried to force them to become protestant.this made the catholics more determined to be catholic.
