the arab-jewish came during the 50's ( israel was founded in 1948 ) , and they suffered neglection and discrimination but after 50 years it seems now  that they are part of the israeli society and they blended  .  

they wanted to return to the promised land . and they did !

The name Zionism is used in replacement for the name Israel.  It is used by Muslims who cannot spell out or utter the name Israel.  That is about it.  Zionism was a movement to create Israel.  Now that Israel exists, there is no longer any need for the name Zionism.

It is also used to divide and conquer.  Jewish people outside of Israel are the good Jews and Israelis are the bad Jews.  It is Muslim propaganda against Israel.  Some coward Jews are actually buying into it because they think that if someday the "world" comes down on Israel or Jewish people, they will be able to say: "Hey, remember me?  I am a good Jew who is against Israel."  This is done with the hope of being "spared."  The joke however will be on them when they find out that hatred for Jewish people has no limitations and is not exclusive to just one group.

Shlomo, that is propaganda put forth by Arab and Islamic extremists. It dehumanizes if you can call Israel population or it's supporters, zionists.  You're not really attacking anyone that way (yeah, sure right) when you attack zionists, you aren't really attacking Jews?!  (answer:  you are still attacking Jews) It makes it easier for the extremists to get more indoctrinated into the hate if they don't flat out have to hate the jew, which most people don't.

Only with regard to Jews would the world consider a nationalist movement a dirty word.  Zionism is just the desire for a Jewish homeland, which now exists.  I presume those 3 million in Israel believe in the Jewish state.
