  1. i know! and their food isn't nearly as good.

  2. This may be in part of the hibachi style, you are paying for the personal chef and the entertainment, Also sushi , can get expensive depending on your region, your region may have to have fresh fish delivered which we have to bare that cost. Also Japanese food in some regions are not as in demand like Chinese, Here in Ga you have a Chinese restaurants everywhere and Japanese restaurants are not. I am a lover of both.Thursday I went it was 4 adults which equaled 4 meals 4 soft drinks 2 glasses of wine the bill was 124.00 plus we tipped the chef 10.00 the head server 10.00 and the man who filled the drinks 5.00 my lord that Japanese food is expensive. next time I will go to the mall and try one of those Japanese counter services at the food court, hey they cook it in front of you!yeah for about 6or7 dollars.

  3. At least in the San Francisco Bay Area, Japanese restaurants in the US are not as common and tend to have fancier presentation.  There are, of course, exceptions.

  4. because it taste good and people are willing to pay double of Chinese food to eat there.
