How did they get so good at voice acting in the originals than the dub? Personally, I like the original with subtitles.

  1. In most cases that is very true.  Japanese Voice Casters are targeting whatever age group the anime would fall into, and seek out voices that would be appropriate.  English Dub Anime target (mostly) are Young Children, so the Voice Casters use Funny Dialects & High Pitched Whiny Voices to entertain the Young Kids.

    For example :

Big Burly Guy in j*p Anime = Distinct Rough Deep Voice.

Big Burly Guy in Eng Dub Anime = High Pitched Whiny Voice.

  2. "Big Burly Guy in j*p Anime = Distinct Rough Deep Voice.

Big Burly Guy in Eng Dub Anime = High Pitched Whiny Voice."

Definitely not always true. Goku is a prime example of the opposite.

Really, the actors themselves aren't any better. It's the situations they are put in to record the dub that makes the difference.

In Japan, they get all the actors for a scene together in one studio and have them all record their lines together. As such, they can hear how each line is being delivered and build off of that.

In the US, typically each VA is brought in to record individually (sometimes on seperate days) to record their lines, so it's not uncommon for two VAs working on the same show to never meet. Also, in some cases, the VA will only be given their own lines, so they don't have a clue what's going on in the scenes they are acting, and just have to follow the orders of the director as to how their character feels at that point in time.

  3. I think that the best language to watch a anime, and any other kind of TV show, is in its original language.

Also dubs usually blocks out violence and cursing depending on the company.

  4. Personally, I think that both subs and dubs are good. I watched Japanese Naruto first, so naturally, I think that the dubbed version sucks. But I watched the dubbed version of Fullmetal Alchemist before the subbed, so I think that the English voice actors are much better than the Japanese. It all depends on which version you watched first, I think :D

  5. I don't know if I agree with that.

In the original of Inuyasha, Inuyasha sounds like an annoying old man. In the english dub he sounds like a teenager, which is how his character acts.

  6. because the english always f's it up . ----_____----
