Why are John McCain supporters so enthusiastic about giving thumbs up & down?

Thumbs Up if it's pro-McCain and down if it's pro-Obama. I mean usually those who like McCain do the rating...

From what I have seen it goes both ways.

It requires little movement, and most people do not have arthritis in their thumbs.

It is also a gesture that was quite common in the pre-Vietnam era, and thus feels comfortable to folks who are currently in their seventies.

ha i noticed that too.  They are quick to give you a thumbs down on your comment.  Too funny.  Although it could be democrats as well.  Either way its rich.
