Why are Liberals so opposed to the United States drilling for more of its own oil?

First of all, people can disagree with you for other reasons than hating you.

Drilling for oil on the continental shelf will RUIN the ecology in those areas forever, all for the sake of a few years' worth of oil.

If you put the money to be invested in producing bio-diesel from algae, you could have the same oil amount in a year or 2, with a guaranteed on-going supply of environmentally-friendly diesel at a lower cost.

That's a more sensible choice.

Why do BOTH the liberals AND the conservatives hate America so much?  One of them wants welfare and one of them wants warfare (actually they both want both of those to some degree).  Both of them want to tax and spend our country into the ground.  Both of them want to control our personal lives, restrict our life, liberty and the pursuit happiness.

You can fumble around with this in your mind your entire life, but eventually you come to only one logical conclusion.  Libertarianism is the only political philosophy that is fair and makes sense.

The oil companies have been drilling in Alaska for years, we get very little of that oil. Most of it goes overseas.

The US does not drill its own oil.

We only sell leases.

The United States does not have a stake in any oil company.

I don't understand why you would think we hate American when we simply don't want to sell it to a group that already has us by the short hairs.

When people state things like this they are implying that we have some sort of nationalized oil program, and we don't.

The oil companies drill, we buy, they don't have to sell us our oil at a cheaper price than they could get elsewhere on the world market.

Once we sell those leases, its not ours any more, its theirs.

We might gain nothing more than the revenue from the leases.

Especially since they don't even have to drill, they can just hold the lease.

Liberals want our capitalist economy to fail because they want to prove that socialism is better than capitalism.

This is why liberals support trial lawyers who drive up health care costs with frivolous law suits and HUGE & painful expenses. This is why they want government to be bloated and restict fair trade and business. This is why liberals place and support any handicap possible, to make our economy perform as poorly as possible.

Liberals prey on the conflict they create by suppporting false civil rights leaders, they want racial conflict.

Liberals will do anything to cause pain at the gas pumps, they will pretend to claim its to stop our dependancy on fossil fuels BUT its a lie, they want to drive our economy into the dirt to make other simple minded people believe that capitalism is not the answer.

Sadly, the majority of liberals just knee jerk react to whatever issue is presented, its only their manipulators who have a clear and defined strategy of over-throwing our way of life. George Soros and Michael Moore are manipulators who control and direct silly liberals to goose step towards a Stalinist nightmare.
