Why are Liverpool getting so excited about a player (Riera) who could not make it as a city player?

Liverpool deserve better than the substandard players that they have at the moment. apart from Torres and a fit Gerrard and also Babel. the rest are a pale shadow of the great days of liverpool. A Great club is so much in debt that they would have to win all four trophies for the next ten years to cut the debt in half. are we seeing the demise of one of the greats? Top four between Arsenal,Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea from now on.?

I support Liverpool and this signing doesnt appeal to me at all.  But IMO the top 4 will be Chelsea, Man U, Liverpool and Arsenal for the next few seasons at least

Not including Reina, Mascherano, and Carragher is ridiculous.  How could you include Babel and not those three.  Babel is an emerging player with nowhere near the production of those five players.  

And let's slow down on Man City becoming top four over Liverpool, who knows if they are going to be similar type owners as Roman.  And talk about debt, check out Man U and Chelsea.  You need to understand the debt these clubs have before you spout off about it.

I liked the look of Riera when he was at City, don't know what he's like now but he was a quality player.

Who's excited? Riera will probably be some more deadwood who will make no impact. We're not stupid you know.

But you're comment about Liverpool only having three good players is ridiculous...Reina, Carragher and Mascherano are world class and Keane, Agger, Skrtel and Alonso aren't far off.
