Question:

Why are McCain and the GOP shocked at all the negative press surrounding Palin?

I'm not even talking about the pregnancy issue when I say this.

Palin was pretty much an unknown before Friday to a majority of the country. One could say the same about Obama. However, he HAS been on the scene for awhile (remember he spoke at the 2004 DNC and got rave reviews?).

Now, it appears that McCain is 'upset' with the media for asking any questions about Palin.

Why did the GOP and McCain pretty much expect that America would embrace the Palin pick without questions?

Thoughts?

  1. He's been on the scene for awhile? Thank God for that! Not.

  2. Who knows what is going through their heads. With the election this close and the way things are being tossed by both parties you think they would know that any pick would be scrutinized.

Maybe he did it as he know the whole pregnancy thing would come up and  some of the criticisms would sound cruel giving  them the sympathy vote. (aww the POW and the poor mother of the unwed pregnant teen)

Doesn't fly with me that way either. I have known plenty of unwed mothers, some POWs and they make their own way without sympathy.

  3. Sorry , I have not seen any negative press, you must watch the far left liberal news channel NBC's owned by George Soros and managed by Immelt the guy who does business with IRAN.    Conservatives are thrilled with Palin, she is a reformer and tougher than Hillary even!

    GREAT TICKET!

VOTE McCain/ Palin for a GREAT CHANGE!

  4. Because much of the nastiness is not fact based.  It demonstrates the bias of the media.  The Dems should be concerned.  Voters see what is happening in the press and they recognize how outrageous so many of the comments are.  Obama supporters may not realize how quickly the average American voter is being alienated from the Democrat party and the "Chosen One" himself based on the blatant media bias and ridiculous character attacks on a highly accomplished woman.

All this nastiness will only hurt the Dems.

  5. McCain wanted to select a hard-right extremist to appeal to the conservative "Christians" sitting this election out.

He hoped no one would notice.  When they noticed he realized his Rovian strategy might have backfired.

America needs a uniter, McCain could have been that guy.  Instead, he is choosing to run a divisive, us against them, race.  I'm Republican, but I hope he loses in a landslide.  Then normal leaders can begin the task of reconstructing my party.

  6. None of us are shocked about the negative press. We just don't understand why it's news.

  7. We are not shocked. I would expect nothing less from a party that has nothing to offer but hate and hypocrisy.

  8. Because Mccain thought that he was going to get all of Hilary's votes that's the only reason why he picked a woman as a token, not an equal. Aside from that he never expected anything to be leaked at least not this early. I guess this is what happens when you count your chickens before they hatch.

  9. I would be shocked if there wasn't.

  10. thats the only card he has left to play.....to feign indignation at the media doing its job and telling the truth about his VP pick and informing the voting public.  He would much rather see the media give her a pass just like it has given him a pass on all of his missteps and wrong doings.

  11. I think they are only upset about the attacks, yes, attacks, on her 17 year old daughter. They have assumed that, if given the choice, the daughter would have used a condom or had it aborted.

That is where their left wing, murderous heads are.

  12. The Repubs can't wrap their ideological heads around the facts that 1) They've actually got John McSame as their nominee for POTUS, 2) That he was actually considering Joe Lippyman for the VP spot, and 3) That he really did pick Ailin' for the slot after meeting her for all of about 30 minutes. Believe me, this is killing them. It's just that they don't know how to come out of it, so the only out for them is to try to hype up McSame/Ailin' for the election. Some of my conservative friends are actually scratching their heads and saying, "When is the other shoe going to drop?"

  13. i expected this treatment from the liberal media

  14. One word...CLUELESS.

They thought they could sham the American public.  Well the joke is on them!

  15. I question their judgment! The vetting process was obviously flawed.

  16. With the utter nonsense spewed about Obama, they shouldn't be surprised that people can dish it out as well.

  17. They should not be knowing that all the complete loons belong to the democratic party. Of course the "Lets elect Obama Media" which encompasses 99% of the print media And 75% of the tv media.

  18. I don't think they're shocked.  They're just pretending to be shocked for political reasons.

  19. who says they're shocked?  disgusted i'm sure, but shocked? please. everyone knows how vile libs are.

  20. Exactly. She is against pro-choice and the Republicans think how she handles her private affairs if off limits? Abortion or the choice to be pregnant is a private matter. If she interferes with my personal life, I will interfere with her personal life as well.

Oh, she thinks she can mess with other personal decisions but we can’t with hers? Is that it?

  21. It almost looks like McCain has been set up by his own party. The conservative base of the GOP doesn't like McCain, even after he's spent the last 3 years sucking up to Dubya so he could get campaign funds. He's flip-flopped so many times that he must be very dizzy. Palin was obviously a bomb waiting to explode so why was she picked for him??

They can't paint her as a capable candidate who is experienced and can stand up to scrutiny and then turn around and say, "Hands off."

The more time passes, it will come out that she supported the 'bridge to nowhere' before she opposed it, she is part of a lawsuit on the side of Big Oil to have polar bears be less protected, and she wants more drilling in the Alaskan preserve than even Big Oil has asked for. Yeah, a big 'maverick' reformer--not!!

  22. I agree with Terr!
