McCain has been behind in the polls for months period.

Close or not McCain is behind.

Even if you don’t believe in polls, take a look at the electoral college.

Obama is leading there too!

Rammussam a conservative polling site, one of the only sites right in 2004 election has Obama winning the electoral college.

"The Rasmussen Reports Balance of Power Calculator currently shows Obama leading in states with 193 Electoral College votes while McCain leads in states with 183 votes. When leaners are included, it’s Obama 264, McCain 247"

  1. John Kerry had about a 17 point lead over Bush at the same time ...and lost.

mike Dukakis had about a 20 point lead over Bush Sr......and lost.

Al Gore had about a 15 point lead.....and lost.

Obama is barely within the margin of error in a year when he SHOULD be about 500 points ahead. So I ask you: Who is uninformed?

  2. Who's to say anyone is winning? Polls don't show anything except a stupid story on the news. There will be no one "winning" until the electoral votes are tallied.

  3. i haven't heard anyone claim mccain is ahead in anything.  just that obama's mega-lead has been dwindled to a micro-gap, and the race is back on.  there's a long time before any real votes are cast...a lot can still happen.

  4. I'm not! I know that obama is the next pres. Why are obama supporters so uninformed of who he really is?

  5. Considering that the real campaigning has not even really started today's polls are rather meaningless. If you look at this day in 2004 you will see that John Kerry was ahead in the likely electoral votes 307 to 211. Even during the primaries, Obama spent most of his time chasing Hillary but eventually overtook her.

The only poll that counts is the one taken on November 4th 2008.

Obviously you have not voted in many presidential elections, if you had you would recognize by now that polling data is often wrong because the sample size is so small (usually 1,000 people or less) accuracy comes from greater numbers. An example of this is a poll being run by AOL, with almost 300,000 respondents they have McCain ahead 66% to 34%.

But like I said this early none of the polls mean very much except to those that hope their guy wins..

Oh, we are not so uninformed, we know that at the moment McCain is in a statistical tie but we also know that he will WIN.

  6. Stockholm syndrome is a psychological response sometimes seen in an abducted hostage, in which the hostage shows signs of loyalty to the hostage-taker, regardless of the danger (or at least risk) in which they have been placed.

  7. Libs polls had Gore & Kerry winning too.

  8. He's ahead by 1% to 2%.

  9. Don't worry about us. If your candidate wins, you can get a good chuckle
