A third NFL player (Richard Collier) in the past year and a half critically wounded by gunshots :'(

Why are football players the target of violent crimes recently, or is it just coincidence?

  1. They think they are above the law and that they are supermen. They are finding out the hard way that  the streets aint no football field. They are too dumb to realize that they dont have to live like that no more.

If I had their money, there is no way you would see me hanging out in the neighborhood that I currently live in! I might come visit, but that's about it. And why go to a nightclub when you can have your own nightclub at your mansion!

Edit: For the guy who calls himself, "DA BEARS R DA BOMB", quite the oxymoron for you to say because they are black, and then say you're not a racist.

Oh, my bad, you didn't say that you were not a racist, you said not to sound racist. I totally misunderstood your racism

  2. I like to think to myself that it's just a bad coincidence.

  3. It seems like professional players in sports have been targets recently, especially football. It's probably just coincidence that this happened, but it is starting to happen more often.

  4. This one I believe is because of the girls.  I think the girls learned who the guys were (the two Jacksonville players) and some other guys who liked them were around and they made mention of who they were with and the guys got jealous and went on a rampage shooting.  That is just my opinion.  Sean Taylor I believe was shot because he caught someone trying to rob him.  That one was coincedence and I don't know waht to thing about the guy from Denver that got shot.  That one is hard to figure out.

  5. well its becuz football players make a lot of money and those ppl that shoot them are most likley trying to rob them of their money. but IMO the sadest loss is Sean Taylor (RIP) he was my all time favorite DB i watched him even in college. but still may they all RIP that have been killed. and the ones wounded may they heal soon

  6. i dont know i really dont they make stupid moves cause they think they strong ( which they are no homo) but then they get ****** up

  7. It's difficult to acknowledge, but many players come from poor single parent homes in tough neighborhoods. There are a group of former athletes (Chris Carter comes to mind) who volunteer their own time to mentor younger players as they transition into this new role. There are many people who don't have the successful athletes best interest in mind.

The athlete may feel that if they disassociate from these negative influences, they'll be turning their backs on the friends who they feel stood with them during tough times.

    It's a difficult social issue.

  8. It partially just a coincidence, i mean just think about how many people get shot a day it just happens that every once in a blue moon its could be a famous sports star

  9. Thats only Three, where your from you probably have people getting shot every day. Its not that they are targets, its just that they are in the media more because of thier celebrity.

  10. it's not really about the money they make, there are tons of rich people who never get shot and there are tons of poor people who do. the difference is in the manner they carry themselves in. they flaunt their wealth excessively. they love to show off and boast. they love to hang out late into the night at clubs. they have this tough guy mentality that nothing can ever hurt them. there are many people in this world who have very short fuses and dont think before they act. i mean these guys never learn their lesson. javon walker for example should be grateful he isnt dead.

  11. What I'm wondering is why was he sitting in his car at about 2:30 am?  Was he waiting for the paper boy?

  12. If you go to shady places, shady things will happen. If you go to a place where there are people who have been drinking (nightclubs) and a fight breaks out sometimes people have guns. How many nightclub related incidents have we had?? Most happen in S****y places where people will do anything to get some money. If I had a lot of money, Id stay away from places where people want my money. It doesnt matter for ethnicity...it just matters where you are at
