Question:

Why are NJ Transit conductors so nasty?

Why when you ask a seemingly obvious question they are so nasty?

When you say 'Excuse me does this go to Netcong" they give you a nasty look and go down the list of stops loudly and with disdain. Netcong is 3rd to last stop so YES would have been what a nice girl should say.

I've also seen them kick someone off for asking an unanswered question too many times.

I don't know what they are getting paid, but GEEEZUS people are trying to use the train. Is that so bad?

  1. sue

honest- how do you feel living in New Jersey?

  2. If I lived/worked in NJ, I'd probably be a miserable, rude person too!

  3. I was on the train from Hamilton, NJ to NYC last week. Yeah, those conductors are nasty and rude.

Maybe they don't paid a lot or they just get sick of answering the same questions all day.

I wouldn't want to be a train conductor.

  4. What the h**l is everyone's problem with The Garden State??!  Try visiting the rest of the state before judging it for the metro Newark/Jersey City area please!!

    Now to answer your question.....

I would say that having to deal with the same questions day in and day out would cause anyone to become rude and surly after a while.  Dealing with the public can be difficult and after a while they probably stop caring as much as they should.  That still does not make their actions right.  Hope this helps.

  5. when they do that , make sure you get the conductor name or badge number. if you don't see both , then remember the time of the train you was on the call nj tranisit and ask for the opreations manager.

  6. I'm sorry that you had such an unpleasant experience with NJ Transit. I used to take the NJ Transit bus to and from Port Authority everyday but had never encountered such a rude driver. I think she should have felt bad for being impolite to you. Don't be affected by those negative people. Don't let them ruin your day. They're called losers because they end up making others and themselves unhappy.

  7. Sometimes people get sick of answering questions that they think everyone should know. I would report it to the supervisor and keep reporting it, maybe they will change their attitude. I get that way dealing with people sometimes, if I am continuously harassed all day, and I am usually the nicest most patient person, but some days I want to strangle the next person that walks into my office. I guess everyone is entitled to a bad day, but if they keep having them then I would report it. Sometimes a lot of people overlook the fact they are doing a job, adn do not even say thank you when they get off. I know it seems tacky, but every once in a while, people need to feel appreciated for their jobs. Try it one tiem and see if they don't at least smile or acknowledge you cared enough to thank them for the ride, you may get a smile out of them. If not you will feel better.

  8. because they're from NJ and general low-lifes and have no life's ambition....
