Why are Numbers so important in the world?

In history numbers have been so important to us why so where would we be without numbers? Science, Building and Computers all created with numbers so how is this importnat to our creation.

  3. It's not important. Numbers are numbers they have no more significance then just being a number. 13 isn't an unlucky number. 6 isn't the devils number. Numbers are used for Mathematics and to count Money etc. Don't listen to anybody telling you that numbers mean something "spiritual" or something ridiculous like that.

  4. numbers are the same as words.  A way we have created to communicate thoughts.  Just like words, numbers can be manipulated to produce some interesting and really useful outputs - the totality is greater than the sum of the parts, so to speak.  Believe what you want about the significance of certain values, but the numbers themselves are nothing but words.

  5. because its really impossible for you describe the world without quantity... there!!!
