  1. Actually both Piazzas and Pizzas come square and round!

  2. it's not true, i'm italian, and in italy exists round squares, and square pizzas

  3. being both words of italian origin, i can tell you that if you visit rome, for example,  you will find also many square pizzas (pizza al taglio) and round piazzas!

  4. It is a money saver for the pizzeria.  Find the center point of a square.    Place one end of a compass on the center point, the second end on the closest point of on of the fours sides of the square.   Use the compass to make a circle with the radius of the circle (the distance from the center of the circle to the circle itself) equal to the distance from the center point of the square to one of the four closest points on the square.    As you can see the four corners of the square are basically cut off by the circle.  The the pizzeria saves $ by giving you a round pizza vs a square one.

  5. The Piazzas I have seen are round because the literal translation means center of the town.

  6. Mike Piazza of the Oakland Athletics would take exception to being called square. As for pizzas being round, some of those are square.

  7. they originally could toss n the air as a show and that  it's faster to cook and to turn a pizza in the oven round then square.
