I thought it might just be something my local radio stations did, but I heard it on satellite radio the same way.

  1. They are seperate tracks. but both tracks by themselves are too short for 1970s rock radio. it was decided by radio Djs and music directors in the 1970s to run both songs together as they sounded real good together and made for a 5 minute song which was a more common rock radio album cut time at the time.

But no most songs pared together are due to AOR radio's influence over music during that time frame.

A lot of other songs by other groups were extended at that time such as Boston's "foreplay" and "Long Time" actually being two separate songs grouped together

  2. I could be wrong on this and can't find my CD but I think they're different parts of the same tune
