Question:

Why are Republicans in Al Gore's Public Service Announcements?

Apparently Al Gore's new educational ad campaign will feature some high profile conservatives:

"Some advertisements will feature bipartisan pairs, such as the Rev. Al Sharpton with Pat Robertson and Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi with former GOP Speaker Newt Gingrich, Zoi said."

Even if we ignore the evidence and the science, doesn't this type of bipartisan cooperation on the topic demonstrate that global warming isn't a liberal / environmentalist plot (as is often claimed by deniers here)?

  1. Same reason that Pat Robertson of the 700 club is in those ads. ($$$ or in the case of the Statist Republicans, votes)

Pat Robertson will then go on to say that God is using Global Warming as a punishment for the United State's allowing of homosexuals to defile our morality.

  2. Because thoughtful Republicans know it's real.  Here are a few more for you:

"National Review (the most prestigious conservative magazine) published a cover story calling on conservatives to shake off denial and get into the climate policy debate"

"I believe there is now more than enough evidence of climate change to warrant an immediate and comprehensive - but considered - response. Anyone who disagrees is, in my view, still in denial."

Ford Motor Company CEO William Clay Ford, Jr.

"The science of global warming is clear. We know enough to act now. We must act now."

James Rogers, CEO of Charlotte-based Duke Energy.

"Republican governors team up against global warming"

    http://rawstory.com/news/2007/Republican...

"the overwhelming number of scientists now believe that there is significant human cause,'' Giuliani said, adding the debate on the existence of global warming "is almost unnecessary ... ''

    http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=...

"(from Republicans for Environmental Protection) The consensus of almost all climate scientists is that global warming is already happening, that human actions are causing it, and that it will cause major problems for our planet."

    http://www.rep.org/news/GEvol5/ge5.1_glo...

“With overwhelming scientific evidence that global warming is adversely impacting the health of our planet, the time has come for the Congress to take action.”

    Senator Olympia Snowe, Republican, Maine

"I agree with you (Gore) that the debate over climate change is over."

    Rep. Dennis Hastert, Republican, Illinois

"Global warming is real, now, and it must be addressed."

    Lee Scott, CEO, Wal-Mart

The deniers will criticize this guy or that, but it's the total that counts.

  3. Why should it surprise you that politicians are part of the AGW hoax?

It's a political issue, not a scientific one.

Ignoring the science is par for the course for you deniers of natural climate change.

Obviously science isn't your strong suit if you believe in man-made global warming.

  4. These "conservatives" are probably being paid a lot of money by the liberals. The media is controlled by liberals, they're very good with money, and money is something many people will give in to (no matter what their political affiliation is). As for Al Sharpton, I couldn't care less about what he says ... he's a racist. I don't like racists. I have nothing against Pat Robertson, he's a great man, but I disagree with his decision to take part in this brainwashing advertisement campaign by Al Gore.

Anyone who actually believes that in the short span of 200 years (remember, the earth has been around for billions of years, modern society hasn't been around that long) humans have changed the weather patterns of the planet ... is an idiot.

  5. It's really fun to watch people struggle to maintain their denial sometimes.  Now the conservatives who accept the science behind global warming (the majority of them) are all in on the hoax and/or are being paid off.  LOL!

The answer to the question is that Republicans are in Gore's PSAs because global warming is neither a hoax nor a partisan issue.  It's a scientific issue, and the majority of conservatives realize this.

  6. No... why didn't you ask us to rate that list? None of which I would consider idea role models, including Gore.

  7. There is no evidence or science to global warming.

To answer your question; they're being stupid.
