Why are Republicans so concerned about experience?

Bush has served two terms as president and he hasn't done any better after the experience he got from the first term. I'm sensing a little bit of hypocrisy from the Republicans

  1. I'm with you. The guy standing next to you at work probably was able to flip the burgers without much problem even with his lack of experience - right? What's the big deal?

Are we still planning to call in sick on Tuesday and get high, dude?

  2. Hypocrisy in politics?  Your kidding!

    I'm so shocked!!!

But as for myself, The Bush legacy has taught me to look more carefully at the experience of the candidate.

And the judgement he (or she) has had in picking his (or her) advisors.

On both counts, Obama reminds me of Bush.

  3. I'm sensing a little bit of ignorance from you...but it's okay.  You're not alone.

Sadly, half of the country wants everything to be bad, just like you do.  It's the only way you win.

  4. You have to remember Bush said that it is a hard job.  But on that deal that Bush has stopped attacks on use he failed to stop the one that mattered most.

  5. From what I've seen and heard from politicians is this:

      1. they're all liars

      2.they're all hypocrites

      3. If they boast about they're prior experience, it's meaningless,

because they don't have any experience as president.

  6. John McCain put the former mayor of a town of 7,000 with zero foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the presidency. Governor Palin shares John McCain's commitment to overturning Roe v. Wade, the agenda of Big Oil and continuing George Bush's failed economic policies -- that's not the change we need, it's just more of the same.

And apparently McCain feels that this choice will attract Hillary voters, which seems to imply that he thinks all women candidates are the same and women voters are dumb enough to believe that. It's insulting and patronizing.

And it's kind of funny that the same people who have been criticizing Obama for lack of experience think Sarah Palin is a great choice.

So here's my question: does "experience" only matter to Republicans when it's a Democratic candidate but not matter at all when it's Sarah Palin?

  7. Just a little?

McCain obviously doesn't see the need for experience or he wouldn't have picked the beauty queen. For an old man w/ serious health issues he's showing very poor judgment regarding the future of the country. What happened to America first?

  8. You're not Obama - impersonating a public figure is illegal- you of all people should know that.

  9. People keep saying Palin has experience because she's been a governor for less than two years.  They are saying this is more than what Obama has, which is 8 years as an IL Senator, 4 years as U.S. Senator.  Then what about McCain himself?  He has not been a governor either.  So people who support Palin would vote for a 72 year old person for President who has less "experience" than a 44 year old one?

  10. I am sensing from the Democrats who say that Obama is experienced while the Republican V.P has more experience actually LEADING something than the two Dems. combined. Imagine that, actually leading. Obama has been a senator for less than a year and spent the entire time campaigning.

  11. I once hired an inexperienced plumber and he ended up flooding my basement.  Now lets multiply that by the presidency of the United States and I don't think it's rational to let someone without experience try to run my country.

  12. You can call it that if you want to. Hypocricy?  I call it down right UNAMERICAN.  They had a surplus in our national budget and social security. NOW SS is bankrupt and the national budget is 9 trillion dollars and spending 10 Billion A MONTH IN A WAR THAT IS DISHONORABLE.  Let us not even mention the lives.  Weak dollar, Euro is 2 times as much and the Yen 3.  Have you seen our dollar bill.  It is red.  You see Republicans wont tax you they just borrow from other countries and then have to issue the money that you earn ...... marked by the country that we owe.  ANOTHER SECRET OF AMERICA  (everyday china issues at least 2 billion dollars to us) Oh and they are not the only ones just not as often and as much.  AGAIN.  LOOK AT YOUR DOLLAR BILLS (WHY ARE THEY RED)!

Republicans, you want traditional values, that is the only thing that hasn't changed.......... traditional value is dominance over another race, favortism........ The problem is Your ELECTED OFFICIALS HAVE YOU LOOKING AT THE BLACKS while the almighty dollar that everyone is after is telling you "you are looking the wrong way".  But the keep telling you IT IS THE BLACK GUY THAT..... !  IT IS THEM... THAT IS GIVING YOU OVER TO CHINA.  YOU SEE THEY ARE ALREADY RICH AND POWERFUL....... they will just move back to Russia, Germany or h**l because they are some strange creatures.

  13. RE: killer on the road.. Bush could have stopped 9/11 but he didn't because him and his friends make loads of money on wars.

I hope they impeach him just to have it on his record before he gets out.

  14. I noticed Dems speaking about experience every day since Wednesday. Bill Clinton brought it up during his speech remember? I think that is one subject Obama wants to leave alone.

  15. That is your opinion.

Bush has thwarted at least 19 terror attacks on American soil since 9/11. You have to give the man some credit.

  16. Because you need experience in a leader. Obama has NONE, he has no foreign policy experience, no experience in anything. He's not worth a second thought. Why are democrats so stupid and ignorant? That's the real question.

  17. Yeah I can't beleive he got in a second time. The people who are Republican are ruining our country. Mcbush is not gonna get it. I'll tell ya that!

  18. Great point - comical and sad but true.

  19. Lets say that you are CEO of a large corporation, and some guy or girl comes in off the streets and has never been in charge of anything, never ran a business b4, he/she was only a janitor...cleaning is his/her only experience, and he/she is applying for President of this very large corporation.....You going to hire someone who has no experience what so ever.....never held and executive office.  100% of CEO's will not, because they do not want their companies to fail.  we are in bad enough shape as it is, and someone with no experience will only make it worse.  John McCain in his life time has sided more times with the Dem's than his own party....shoot this is why they don't like him that much, because he bumps heads with them on many issues.

  20. because i want someone in office who knows what they are doing and talking about not someone who makes empty promises and has a very lose grasp on reality.
