Why are Republicans so proud of their VP pick? Is it really something to be proud of?

Only reasons she was picked:

1. she was picked because she was a woman

2. she was picked because of the oil in Alaska

3. she was picked because John McCain is older than sliced bread

4. her son is going to Iraq September 11th

She was picked to rally all of hilary's supporters, yet believes almost completely opposite in her views. Does mccain think women are seriously that stupid?

Was this seriously all the Republicans had to offer?

  1. 1. she was not picked just because she was a women

2.what does she have to do with oil?

3.I,d rather have an old president than one with as much politicacal expirience as a 5 year old

    4. Id be proud of my son if he went to iraq too

No we have practical ways to achieve change, plans that will work in the long run

thats what we have to offer

  2. Yes, McPain thinks that all Hillary supporters will go to his side. That women are really dumb. He needs to show people that he can do the math of age averaging. You have a problem with that?

  3. Dems like you make it clear they could care less about women breaking the 'glass ceiling'.

All they really want is to advance liberalism.

  4. All things considered, I think it was a brilliant pick...I think the other options (Lieberman, Romney, etc.) were too dowdy to make an impact. This pick was unexpected, she is a woman (yes, that will have an impact), she is young, she is vibrant. Will I vote for this ticket? Not sure yet, but it certainly will make many moderates/independents think twice!

  5. You forgot she was picked because she,

Is the only candidate on either ticket with executive experience rather then just legislative experience, and that she is pro life, pro gun, and willing to fight the war until we win it.  Those are the issues important to the "right" side of the Republican Party - and its now quite happy.

  6. Obama was picked because he was a man... he was black... he was black....etc.

.. and along with the black he wasassociatedd with a racist church.. why does everyone not mention this.. is this okay?>  But not okay to be female.  Hmmm, democrats your sexism is showing!!!

  7. You have a good point but unfortunately decades of white-male bashing has justified identity politics in the minds of the electorate. Women and minorities in this country are open about and proud of their bigotry against white men. Blacks vote for Blacks and Women vote for Women to a large degree.

Obama would not have gotten the nomination if he had not been black and received 90%+ of the black vote against Clinton and a whole lot of votes from limousine liberals besides.

It is pretty lame though. How many months did the Republicans bash Obama for being inexperienced and not accomplishing anything? Now their going to say all kinds of great things about someone with much less experience and less accomplishments.

Republicans are a bunch of hypocrites. But we already knew that based on the all time record for wasteful spending that they set when they finally got power.

  8. And why do you think the Dem/Libs picked Obama certainly you don't believe for his experience....or was it all THEY had to offer? Why ridicule her she seems like a decent person.

Response:Obama recieved 18 million votes and McCain recieved 0

There is a diffrence between being elected and being nominated.

  9. They are proud of everything they do . Look at all the stupid comments on here everyday. They hate celebrities & are not proud to have a sportscaster, vogue model, beauty queen as VP for a 72 year old man iwth cancer. That is something they would be proud of knowing McCain loves beauty queens.

  10. No. I think of other reasons why she was picked. I think of, yes, she is a woman and that makes it historic. She is a true conservative. She is anti-abortion and anti-g*y marriage. I think the factors you true, but they are underlying. I am leaning Obama, but lets see what the debates bring.

  11. I see that you don't agree with her. Yes I didn't know much about her before today, but I'm willing to see what she has to bring to the ticket. So far, I haven't seen anything to warrant me switching to Obama. He's still an empty suit and after his sermon last nite, I mean his acceptance speech, it's still all "Hope" and "Change". I just hope he changes his tune in November.

  12. A strong conservative woman who has the same amount of experience as Barack Obama is certainly something to be proud of.

  13. Yes they are proud. Yes it is something to be proud of. It is a little hard to explain it to you, being a hater like you are, it is really hard to break it down into little tiny words and type slow enough for you to understand. If you get stuck on the big words write and I will send a tutor for you.

  14. Sooo, here you sit on Y!A, and tell us you KNOW why Palin was picked??  You just don't like her, so you are fashioning reasons. That's the only thing you are telling us.

  15. They think if they can choose a woman to be put on a ticket--then they are no longer the "femiNazis" that we know the GOP has been for decades.

They've screwed themselves by putting someone who has LESS experience than Obama--and right now--THEY KNOW IT.

  16. She is going to be the first woman to hold National Office, and she is a Republican.  Of course we are proud.  Just as we will be proud of our first President of color, who will also be Republican, I am sure.

And besides all the things you mentioned, she is pro-life, pro-gun, pro-domestic oil production, and a dozen other no nonsense conservative positions, as well as having experience in an Executive office, which none of the others on either ticket have.

  17. Your out in left field.  She was picked because she is a leader.  She aqs picked because she is a highly respected Governor, and busoiness woman.  Get a grip.

  18. You know the Republicans were going around screaming that Hillary was a candidate only because she was a woman and Obama was because he was black. Now the Republicans pick a woman, because she is a woman! They are looking sillier and sillier as we come to the Election! Whats next, I bet they will cry when Biden slams her during the VP debates.

  19. Yes. You sound jealous and petty. She was picked for her executive skills, her conservative stance  and because she is not  a Washington insider.

    McCain =Action.

    Obama = Talk of Action.

  20. Allie, McCain is smart enough to pick  his running mate.  He is smarter  than you and me combined. So don't question McCain's judgement. :)

  21. 1. Yeah Women!

    2. Go American, oil that is. Until we can develop more readily available alternatively fueled vehicles that even Obama supporters could afford.

    3. She was picked because she's a kick in the pants, hardline NRA card holding no nonsense AMERICAN.

    4. So is Biden's. as a JAG ooooaaah.

  22. She was picked because she fought and beat corruption in the state of Alaska. Because she has increased the state budget and  reduced taxes. Because she has values and policy commitments that match those of many Republicans. The more I learn, the better I like her over your 2 liberal whiners.

  23. We were also the party that abolished slavery while the democrats ,secretly became the redcoats, later known as the KKK in South Carolina after the Civil War.Our party also helped with the Civil rights movement, while the democrats stood in the way,of schools, colleges, etc. What are you so unhappy about?

  24. at leasty its the vp and not the actual candidate

    why ask?

We already know that the democrats were stupid enough to elect a junior senator!

  25. I agree with all of your reason above.  Sadly there probably are more than a few stupid women who were hilary supporters and will probably be swayed by this new development.  I'm not one of them.  I'm voting for Obama.

  26. Who? I never heard of her, 80% of Americans never heard of her before today?

  27. Yep, she was picked for one reason only. To get the disgruntled feminist vote. But the hilarious thing is that their main interests do not even come close to lining up, so I think it's a quite small number that will switch just because he picked a woman.

  28. Yes, she's good.   All of the reasons you listed, which isn't everything there is, beats Obama for simply offering a historic first black president, good scripted speech abilities, and promising undefined 'change'.

  29. Republicans have a right to be proud.

The first woman to be elected to the White House will now be a Republican.

    McCain / Palin  ' 08

  30. It's quite sad

The republicans are just trying to get women voters, but she is against everything most women believe in

  31. yea republicans are pathetic trying to copy the democrats HAHAHAHAHA wat a bunch of idiots...and those who give this a low rating are afraid to see the truth. HAHAHAHA so go ahead i can continue to post all night
