  1. # 1  Liechtenstein  3.3 billion

    #  2  Luxembourg's

Norway  is probably the poorest with about 90 million

the english monarch is 3rd wealthiest in europe    personal wealth is about 2. 7 billion English pounds,

  2. oh yeah, the Queen of England is really hurting for money... she isn't even as rich as JK Rowling!!

please, who cares about any royalty, they don't have power in most countries.

  3. The monarchs of Norway, Sweden, Spain, Belgium, and the Netherlands are closer to the people.  The British royals are more aloof and are more like rock stars. Actually, I believe the British royal family is more affluent than the other monarchs of western Europe.

  4. Richer as in more money? I don't think the monarchy in either Norway, Sweden or Spain are more wealthy than the UK crown. Are you sure this is the case?

Why are they less famous? Probably partly because they are not subject to the same press scrutiny, and they do not have the same level of international status. Remember Queen Elizabeth is head of state for the majority of the Commonwealth, including Canada, Australia, New Zealand and many other nations. This means she is of interest to far more people than Juan-Carlos or Harold.

  5. They're hardly poor - the Queen is the 9th richest monarch in the world, if you discount the Duke of Westminster - and that doesn't count things like Buckingham Palace or the Crown Jewels which are 'on loan' from the British People.

The Spanish and Swedish royalties are not richer - out of your three, only Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands is richer than Queen Elizabeth. She is known to have massive investments in real estate, antiquities and multinational companies.

  6. I suppose that it's because at one time the British had a vast empire that spanned the world. Some of former colonies still acknowledge the British Royal Family in some way, and some, like Canada, still retain the Monarch of England as their Head of State.

  7. ER the last time i checked the queen was the richest woman on earth.
