It makes me sick - the man is a convicted rapist and stalker.

The day he raped an innocent girl on her doorstep is the day he lost his right to ever walk the streets i think.

He is a convicted rapist and i dont care that he has been found innocent of Jill Dando's murder.

Its about time we thought about the vicitims and potential victims of this society more than some scumbag rapists feelings.

  1. www.wikipedia.com

Barry george was convicted of Murder of Jill Dando on 2 july 2001.

Conviction quashed on 15 Nov 2007

    Retrial 9 June 2008

    Aquittal 1 Aug 2008

A lack of concrete evidence, in testimony, to place George at the scene of the murder, was the action for his release and aquittal.

In reading his biography in wikkapedia, he sufferes from many psychological depressions and will be watched, I am sure into the future.

Like Rodney King and Miranda, the criminal never really rehabilitates after he is aqutted. It only makes them feel bolder, so watch for a future episode of guess who returned?

History repeats itself with these people, only problem, like the Green River killer, let lose, they will kill another innocent person or ? how many more, before beng brought to justice?

  2. I don't, i feel sorry for Jill Dando & all the Women George has prayed on.

  3. He is a danger to the public if not supervised correctly. He did do eight years but having said that a convicted rapist should not be let out for 15 - 20 years.

  4. Because he has 2 first names.

  5. You have to get this matter in proportion .... this man was incarcerated for eight years for a wrongful conviction.  That is what the law has decided.  His previous form cannot enter into that decision.  Everyone has human rights and on the surface, his rights have been badly violated, and if he didn't kill Jill Dando, and the law has found him innocent,, then that must be put right. Of course there are thousands of people walking the streets who are totally guilty of serious crime but have never been the subject of a trial or incontravertible proof.  Barry George may not have been a good citizen in the past, and he has to learn to live with that and any repercussions from the current acquittal.  His life will not be easy, that is for sure.  But to answer your question, I have no empathy for the man ... his lifestyle put him in the frame originally, the police were convinced that they had their man. I do not, for one minute, think that they simply sought a conviction due to the high profile of Jill Dando and having to satisfy public hungerlust. However, I do feel that the police have to formally conclude their part by either a fresh investigation ( what is the point some say ?), or issue a statement that they will not be looking for anyone else.

  6. Because he was wrongly convicted and spent 8 years in prison for something he didn't do.

  7. But do we want a system that wrongly convicts people but says it does not matter because the defendant was guilty of some wrongdoing at some time in the past? Doesn't that lower us to the level of those whom you criticise?

    Just a thought

  8. who feeling sorry for him, my feeling is for jill dando and her family, if you are found guilty or not, time will tell thee people,or there a bigger person call god who will judge,

  9. Agreed Pickle. His defence was, I was out stalking OTHER women that day. Exsqueeze me? The guy should have been re-arrested for being a s*x pest and then put on the s*x Offenders Register. Instead he's going to get compensation.

  10. I did feel sorry that an innocent man was convicted because it must be horrible to be in prison for a crime you did not commit. Now I am aware of the story of his life I am left to wonder when he is going to commit a crime and rightly end up back in the slammer

  11. It doesn't bother me about him - it bothers me that if he didn't do it then the person who did is walking free. There's someone out there who did this and is free to do such things again.

  12. I do not feel sorry for him in that case

i didn' know he had done this.........

  13. No matter what our personal feelings are the man is still innocent of murder.

As someone above said he should be charged with stalking.

It seems that the C.P.S like to spend vast amounts of money on long trials whereas someone who admits publicly to being a stalker is totally ignored by them.

We can sympathise with the victims and think that people like Barry George should be locked away but if the Police and C.P.S think it is fine for him to stalk vulnerable women then there is nothing we can do.

  14. One of the best things about the UK is our legal system which is one of the best in the world..it has to be applied to everyone..fairly. There has been a miscarriage of justice so he should be freed, however unpalatable that seems.

I might agree with your sentiments but on the other hand, I am proud to live in a country with such a good justice system (although it could be better)

  15. If they had hung this rapist for his crimes we would not have the bleeding hearts crying crocodile tears all over the place , perhaps they would like to adopt this scum and take him into there house , then we could kill two birds with one stone.
