Why are U.S embassies so huge every where?

Why are U.S embassies so huge every where?

Because they are among the busiest embassies in the world and I read that an Embassy is the image representative of that country in a foreign land. A huge and powerful country like USA can afford to have a highly secured and huge facilities overseas.

They need a "super" security, privacy, luxury, etc. And they can afford it :)
