Why are Vale Tudo Cages Smaller than MMA ones?

They seem a lot smaller than say UFC or Cage Rage events.

  1. As far as I know there is no standard to the size of a cage or ring for either MMA or Vale Tudo.  I would assume Vale Tudo uses smaller cages/rings in order to press the action (nowhere to run).
