Why has this horrible monster of the night been turned into something mysterious and alluring?

What is it about them that makes them so irresistible?

  1. Because ugly vampires sell fewwer movie tickets.

The notion of the sexually attractive romantic vampire is actually quite new. Vampires throughout the world of folklore range from bloated red corpses to vampiric mists. In ACTUAL regional folklore the vampire is an evil, disgusting creature, almost all accounts are inhuman in manifestation. the ones who were people were always just some local who was convicted killed and staked with iron or beheaded to keep them from returning. The romantic vampire of modern films is just that, a romanticised humanized version based on mythology.

  2. I think its because they are dark mysterious and that is what draws us to them. I mean the Vampire off Queen of the Damned is so hot! lol

  3. That's because zombies are rotting corpses.

  4. without the vampires good looks, how else would they be able to seduce women lol. Vampires are awesome that's why they are s**y =]

  5. I know what you mean... vampires are really s**y. I think it's their thirst for blood. I can name so many s**y vampires. Although Melinda Clarke makes a pretty hot zombie...

  6. vampires suck your blood, so close range of physical touch. the twilight books helped, and zombies are literally the DEAD, like corpse ugly. so no way are they going to be s**y.

  7. s**y vampires are a  recent invention of mass media. traditionally vampires weren't anything near s**y and looked like the undead corpses they were (altho they didn't decompose to the point a zombie/lich would). the media turned the vampire into something attractive and s**y because that's more likely to attract an audience. it's as simple as that, the modern vampire of fiction was created as eye candy to draw an audience and make more money.

  8. Think about it, which would you rather look at? A ugly hunchback living in filth or a tan muscular rich guy? The answer is pretty obvious. Nobody wants to see the unappealing in their entertainment anymore, so they make everything pretty and sparkily. Even poo these days must be sprayed with Febreeze and encrusted with diamonds.

As for the zombies - give it a few years. Before you know it they too will have flawless skin and be wearing the sexiest of mummy-garb.

    T.T

Goodbye good old logical monsters. Hello new completely inappropriate stupid ones!

  9. You need to read Bram Stoker's Dracula. He describes him as anything but good looking.

  10. Because we all secretly crave to come out at night to feast upon the flesh and blood of the innocent. No one wants to be a dead, rotting corpse.

  11. First becasue they are technically the natural predators of humans. Being beautiful and alluring is porbably something that makes it easier to hunt.

Second becasue If i was a vampire and I was going to turn someone into a vampire to spend time with and to live forever, I would bite someone gogeous. Why not?

Third, they drink blood. there is something in the human phsyche that finds blood alluring. It is primal and almost subconcious, but tis there.

  12. It's just how the myth has changed I guess.  Not all real vampires are like that though, they all have different looks.

  13. Vampires have had a long history of being associated with s*x; just read Dracula, or think of the word "vamp".

  14. Because  they are slick, sharp, evil, dangerous, and s**y. They are dark, cool, smooth. Other monsters are mindless idiots while Vampires are smooth criminals.

  15. Because s*x sells...always.

Media can make, and tries to make, everything to appeal to viewers.

Take Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the vampires were pretty hot, and as it turns out, Buffy was a very popular show.

Vampires can be made alluring, however zombies have the reputation of the living dead, it's hard to make that appealing.
