Why are Walgreens and CVS pharmacies always right across the street from each other?

  1. Because both companies' market research departments came to the conclusion that the same general location would be the best spot for a pharmacy. It doesn't matter that a direct competitor is located right across the street. A retailer will lose more customers if they are in a bad location than if a competitor is next door.


  2. It's called Competition! Each one is trying to gain the Monopoly on this industry....Discusting, huh?

I  dont  know  exact  details  but in my area  Ft Worth,,TX,, a  run down intersection  bulldozed  all old  buildings  and  offered  the  spaces  with tax  cuts to rebuild new  buildings.  So we got Subway, Cvs  Walgreen and  a  major  gas  station on that section.  At another  just  few  blocks  away  Wal Mart  market  and  Cvs  are across from each other.  *mamatx
