Why are Western Countries still a part of the UN...?

when it is obvious that it only supports non-Western countries? It is filled with Socialists and Africans. These people have no real power yet at the UN they get to say their piece as though they were as great as our countries. Meanwhile their children starve and their Adults die of HIV.

the question should be why is the UN in the US???? it's time is done move it to africa somewhere or russia or cuba. and let's see how many countries would attend or how long it would last.

The UN doesn't accomplish anything anyway. It's like watching a bad soap opera. Actually watching a bad soap opera is better

UN stands for UNITED NATIONS. It is meant to be united not to part ways each other.

The Aims of the United Nations:

* To develop friendly relations between nations.

* To work together to help people live better lives, to eliminate poverty, disease and illiteracy in the world, to stop environmental destruction and to encourage respect for each others rights and freedoms.

  Expenses at UN have been increased dramatically during Bush presidency.Anyways if UN supports largely non-west parts THE REASON YOU ALREADY HAVE ANSWERED in your question, i.e. "These people have no real power...their children starve and their Adults die of HIV". Now tell me if you have 10$ and you want to spend it for the betterment, will you help a poor, helpless, starving man or will you help a man with an expensive car who is driving towards a five star hotel to dine (of course u will help poor one).

Well, u said Africa & Socialist...U know Asia and Africa are 2 most biggest & most populous continents. More countries gets more. Suppose there are 2 houses names 'h1' & 'h2'. 'h1' is big house and there lives 50 persons. Government have to pay each person 1$. 'h2' is small having 30 persons. Now replace Houses with Continents and People with Countries. Socialism is political & economic approach (this approach suits them, so they have adopted it...e.g. if i like communism i cannot make others enter it by hating & mocking their schools of thoughts). If u say about POWERS CONTROLLING UN then it would not be wrong that USA and Western Countries have more infiltration in UN. Who are permanent members? Who have Veto power?
