Why are a companies headquarters in a different country to where the products are made?

I need to know why they headquarters are in a different country to where the products are made. Please help!

Due to the fact that wages are lower where these products are being made. Therefore it costs less to make them!

often companies are different simply because they market products globally. they will manufacture where the costs are low and run the corporate office where the tax advantage is high
