Why are a lot of men so arrogant?

Women too but men especially. It is as if they think they are great and nobody else has done anything and they are full of their own self importance.

because theirs so many easy and desperate chix out there who make them feel like they can "pull" but really dont realize its not hard to find a girl wholl put out b-cuz so many girls dont REALLY have  respect 4 they self not sayin puttin out makes u a hoe but they jus make it SO obvious that they do n stead of seducing like the great marilyn monroe taught me..guys dont get a chase n e more so they refuse to chase n feel like girls should settle with them..lots of women are g*y now....

We do that because we want like, some kind of attention in a way. But we think also that chicks dig that as we become mean and selfish.  Thats how relations become much further because we want to see how you react to our emotions. Also to see if you ladies have time for us.

Don't let the arrogant ones get under your skin - they are simply not worth the worry and stress that they think they warrant in showing their self importance

well sometimes it's impossible to be humble when you think highly of yourself

even worse when you're the only one that thinks that and then the awkward situation becomes the elephant in the room when it is obvious no one else shares the same opinion.

Self importance is a funny thing...  it's basically yourself that feels important and the need to be viewed by others as such... so arrogance is typically a sign of low self esteem as odd as that may sound.  Almost like an oxy moron..   only the truly obnoxiously arrogant pricks full of their own achievements and boastful reviews are the lonely empty shells that no one would see them for.  

People need reassurance of their self worth constantly.  Sometimes being arrogant and patting yourself on the back is a sure sign that a lack of self esteem is present.  

I ignore them and usually find a way to top their achievements to prove they should be patting my back and not their own.  Usually this will get the dumb b*****d to stfu

well ive come to the conclusion that women blow their heads up so much they cant release the air after its done, what you should do is take a nice sharp needle and poke a big fat whole thru their heads

i like how men are the first to answer. go figure. anyways, it's because men think they are gods perfect creature of perfection. hence the reason why some of them are so vain! i had one boyfriend and all he thought about was going to the gym to be a body builder. it was annoying! then he even tried to get me to be just like him and be thin as a stick!

I don't really think that they think their all so great I think that they have to put on that macho I'm better than any other guy persona because they are in fact not feeling so great about them selves.  You know when your not feeling so good people tell you to look in the mirror and compliment one thing you like about yourself to get your self esteem up. I think men just take it tot he extreme to feel semi good and to make you think that you've done something right by picking them.
