Why are all ghosts stories on TV and such banished by Christian prayer or something?

Watching the discovery channel and other shows it always talks about people who deal with ghost by using holy water,christian prayer, etc. So...there are not Muslim or Jewish ghosts? It almost seems like ghosts only haunt Christian people or something. Please can anyone explain?
