Hybrid cars, green energy, organic food, pretty much anything that people say you should buy because it will help the planet, they're much more expensive. I mean does it really cost more to grow food naturally then to process it till its hardly food anymore. And the Car manufactuers are making all these hybrid cars that will hardly use any gas(The new Chevy Volt), which is a great thing, but with a price tag of about $300,000 the only people who will be able to afford them are the same jerks that drive 90 in their Hummers and are a big part of why were burning so much oil anyways.

  1. you bet ye.

  2. If you really care about the environment, stop worrying about what to buy next.  Try not buying it at all.

  3. >Hybrid cars, green energy, organic food, pretty much anything that people say you should buy because it will help the planet, they're much more expensive.

There can be a number of different reasons for that. In the case of organically grown food, it simply costs more to produce it because the farmer doesn't have access to the cheap, effective chemicals to spray on the plants and keep all the insects and fungus and weeds away (or if they're growing livestock, they have to pay the extra for the organic feed coming from plants that were grown without spraying).

With hybrid cars, another variable enters the equation, namely that of patent law and intellectual monopoly. Patent laws have the effect of reducing competition in a market, and the result is pretty much invariably an increase in the price of whatever it is being sold. You may be able to get a Ford hybrid if you can't get a Honda hybrid, but the fact is you can never get a Ford hybrid from a Honda dealership. Thus, the Ford dealerships are able to raise the price of their cars because no one else can compete in the market of that particular model. The same principle applies to normal cars as well, of course, but it is increased with hybrid cars because their environmental benefit inflates the demand.

For the amount of usable food you get at the end, yes it does.

  4. because its new technology, they have been making products that are harmful to the environment for years and the factories and machines and the other infrastructure to make these non green products already exists, the price of green items will go down as the infrastructure to make the items is built up.

  5. Because he is a republican?????

  6. ya i know it's kinda of sad... but the people who make these are greedy and want more money. And only r e t a r d s buy hummer - they waste so much gas. Hummers were military cars actually!

  7. It's all just another "trendy cycle" . . .

twenty years from now, none of this climate BS will matter to anyone other than the new trend-setters.

If anything, I've seen the climate improve over my lifetime.

  8. Just another bunch of people trying to make a buck that isn't altogether honest. There are not that many things you can do besides use nothing.I see it more as a control effort than I do saving the planet. Some of the "green" things are just as harmful but now a new group of people can make money. If it were honest it would be published everywhere and free for all if there was that much concern.Do you see that? Well no you don't.
