  1. Why are Americans so weird?

Well, first of all they are not weird.  They are just as human and concerned about communicating with other people as Europeans are.

You need to go back to school and learn how to write.  Children should learn how to write correctly before they start to use slang.  That is one of the purposes of education.

Writing correctly is the official way of communicating in the modern world.  It is a necessity.  If you can write correctly then you can speak correctly as well.  You should get in the habit of writing in plain and simple English – to get your point across.

If I were a foreigner who had a command of the English language and heard you speak and write in that slang, I would moan too.

Because I deal with people from all over the country (USA), I have to communicate in correct English (business letters, official emails, etc).  And when I have to speak to them by telephone, I have to pronounce my words correctly and speak in plain and simple English.  My job depends on it.

Regardless of your lack of education or profession (baker, plumber, farmer, waiter, etc), the modern world expects you to write correctly.  Again, it is a necessity!

  2. you get some americans who like to moan just like you get some English who like to moan. Not all of either country are like that. But a lot of people do seem to get pretty p*ssed at the price of gas when its not like they can't afford it.

Oh yes and 50% percent of all people who use the Internet are American. Fact. So you will find that most people who moan are American simply because of that statistic.

  3. that whole question was, "umm weird".  These type of spellings are annoying and slang isn't widely encouraged.  Sounds like you're trying too hard.  Just be yourself.  I don't think it's just americans or english people that look down on this...it's people from all over who feel that way

  4. our good chums across the pond have always been our nicest rivals. whether language or culture . we both speak English , true ,but go about it in different ways .

i have yet to meet a nasty American ( and have met loads ). Keep a sense of humour at the top of your list , and you won`t go far wrong .

for a laugh , watch the episode of "family guy " where  Stewie is trying to teach the little cockney girl to speak properly ( " the life of the wife is ended by the knife " )

also ,try not to use "shortcut spellings " ie: cos instead of because , this will only confuse things further .

    good kuck , regards  tony.d

  5. I hope you're not speaking for all English people. Most do want to go to school. Maybe you could go back and learn your language properly? You can take evening classes for English.

What's an English ghetto city? I don't think we have those here. Some council estates are a bit rough though as they fill most of the houses with teenage single mothers.

  6. After reading this I feel like I've been asleep for a while, woken up, and just found out there has been a new language created. I don't actually know how to answer it.... Back to sleep for me!

  7. That's because most of the American people that live in England are successful people. Come to America, and you will see a big difference! Drop out rates are everywhere. Also, I agree with the first answer, this question was a little weird. Anyway, America's education sometimes doesn't even come close to some European countries education. And there are a **** load of people here that wouldn't care to go to school either, you just have to come here and see for yourself. Go to a part of a city that looks run down, and it's probably the same as some English ghetto cities.

  8. Huh sigh yea it is a shame sometimes.  americans think they are so perfect so the act like perfectionists, they have strict rules on conduct and manner(most of the time) and they look down on other cultures whose table manners might seem a little different then theirs if you know what i mean.  I know cause i'm asian and whenever i go to a restaurant or someplace public with my family I always get rude stares from these americans and i can tell by their expressions, they're sayin "if you aint gonna speak english go back to your own f***in country"  Individually americans are perfectly fine, but if they're in a mass group things get ugly if u ask me

You can lead a perfectly fine life with or without education, a lot of celebs did terrible in school but they made it out just fine, dont let anybodys opinion bother u

  9. yea i agree with you and the asian gurl.

americans think they are so prefect and they do moan at everything.

the americans who ino around here p**s me off much lyk! i gotta spell correct, say things correct. if i was 2 say a word and it came out rong they would laugh n correct me. like does it matter? they knew what i said but they just love 2 be picky.

i hate them grr if they dont like english people then whats the point moving 2 england?? but i do plan 2 go 2 the US soon (:

  10. The whole point of slang is to separate you from the people that don't speak it. If your slang is not understood and you make no attempt to help them understand, you're separating yourself for them. the moaning is just their way of saying they want to be separate from you.

  11. If you used correct grammar and punctuation, maybe we would understand what you're trying to say.
