Question:

Why are animal proteins bad for your body?

Why I ask is because I was watching BBC America, You are what you eat! And the nutritionist was saying something to the effect that our bodies cannot digest these proteins properly. Apparently they sit in out intestine for quite sometime, accumulating bacteria and gases. Essentially rotting in our guts until the acids finally are able to break them down enough to pass. Does anyone have anymore to add, or know anything about this?/

  1. if you read spiritual guidance or vegetarian books

    they will tell you why

    or email or IM me

  2. Yes and No, see we need fat, and we need protein, just a balance of both and not to over-do it. It's best to have very lean meats and try and stay away from as much saturated fat as possible and try and stear towards to more heart healthy fats such as mono-unsaturated and poly-unsatured found in whole grains, veggies and soy products.

  3. Animal proteins are generally considered to be bad because they contain too much high bad protein, which is then stored in the body as a toxin.) The body's attempt to rid itself of the excess protein congests the liver and overworks the kidneys which have to expel the excess nitrogen through urine. Animal proteins contain inorganic acids which are toxic to humans. They contain too much fat and cholesterol. They contain a lot of artificial hormones, steroids, and other chemicals injected or fed to the animal to make them grow faster and bigger. While plant proteins clearly does not do this and cuts cholesterol and aids kidneys in diabetics.

  4. In some cases the free radicals formed by catabolizing proteins can cause cancer.  Red meat is notorious for this, mostly from liquid lipo proteins (fat).  keep in mind that we humans evolved to be smarter than your average animal because we scavenged on animal proteins.  without large amounts of proteins, our brains could not develop enough to contemplate the idea of being a vegan.

Also burned food, meat or veggies, cause cancer.

  5. They're not. Too much protein *is* bad for your body, though, whether vegetarian or animal, and animal proteins do come with other substances such as saturated fats. In any case, vegetarianism is more about considering the morality of eating any animals at all.

  6. Animal proteins are not bad for your body. Proteins are proteins.

One cannot just consume the protein from something.

Animal *products* are 'bad' for you though.

    Why?

Because as humans, our bodies are not 'designed' for consuming such things.  Sure, we may not feel the negative effects if eaten in small quantities, but there are effects none-the-less.

    What are the effects?

Well, imagine you put diesel fuel (oil and gas mix) in your gasoline vehicle.

Sure, your gas vehicle will work, but not too well.  You might not notice at first (if you don't see the obvious smoke) but eventually it will do harm to the motor, especially if you go and dump some oil in there instead of gas, then, your motor will have an attack and die.  That's kind of how heart attacks and strokes happen... Because we are not designed to deal with these animal fats etc. being put into our system as carnivores and omnivores are.

  7. First: Many people consume too MUCH protein, which can be just as bad for you as not eating enough. The excess meat is stored as a toxin. I'm sure you know that toxins are bad

Second: Fat from meat clogs your arteries.

Third: Meat has endless amounts of roids and I'm sure you know why roids are bad for you.

    Fourth: It makes you fat.

Fifth: Anaemia, appendicitis, arthritis, breast cancer, cancer of the colon, cancer of the prostate, constipation, diabetes, gall stones, gout, high blood pressure, indigestion, obesity, piles, strokes and varicose veins are just some of the well known disorders which are more likely to affect meat eaters than vegetarians.

Sixth: It takes more energy to digest meat than plants.

  8. Yes, they are. They put so many steriods in them and they are very fatting. I would concider going vegetarian. Its great. Check out these websites for more info goveg.com peta.org and peta2.com

  9. They are NOT bad for you.  Just like anything else, it's OK in moderation.  I eat very little meat, maybe once every two weeks, and it's just what I feel like doing.  I'm almost 55 and was born and raised to eat meat, fish and veggies.  If you like to eat meat, eat it!  I just seem to be more of a veggie, carbo girl, so that's probably why I'm way overweight.       Use your own judgement, you'll do fine!

  10. Too much fat from animals or any source can clog your arteries leading to high blood pressure and heart problems, but lean protein from animals in moderation is not harmful.  In fact protein from any source is a good thing.

  11. Well, animal fats are carcinogens.

  12. Because meat isn't natural. humans are natural herbivores.

  13. there not ... oh your asking a vegan nm then

  14. That does depend on the context.

If you have epilepsy or PKU it can lead to convulsions because of certain amino-acid induced EEG increases in the brain.

Phenylalanine is one classic example and it is found in cola and some other things.

The worst chemical is glutamic acid (glutamate) not to be confused with mono-sodium glutamate.  This is the brains major exiting agent in the brain.

Too much protein has also been said to be bed for other reasons, but I cannot think what.

However, in general protein is mostly good for you.

This is what makes up your tissues of your body.

  15. They aren't.

Why wouldn't you eat meat? It's supposed to rot in your guts. That's how you get the best farts.

  16. Meat will change the shape of your cells.  Vegetarians that never ate meat have round cells.  Meat eaters  have oblong cells like that in animals.   When meat eaters become Vegetarians their cells become oval like!   Meat is product is actually used protein.. Would you use a regurgitated veggie such as vomit  I bet not! Also meat is a dead item!
