well, there are tons of reasons why a species could become endangered.  

But, to put it simply, someone has recognized that there very few of this species left, and they are dissappearing quickly. And the only to prevent them from becoming extinct, is to protect them.

One reason they are in danger is because they are losing they're habitat and cant adapt soon  enough or it is changing. also global warming is getting rid of the ice caps and making see levels rise up having less land. It might also get to warm for some animals. Lastly when one group of species die out and the animal that eats that species will die out and so on I hope this helps
