  1. its just like eating a good meal.. its almost over for them, they see the end of there time

  2. 1. Im HAPPY because I am in love

    2. I am HAPPY because I make moral choices on my own accord, not to ensure I get some reward. (cough heaven cough)

    3. I am HAPPY because discovering about the world and universe we live in through science is wonderful, and the ability to not know yet be content is a great gift.

I am content with this life! I need no heaven. I can make my own.

I guess thats why I am so HAPPPY!

  3. They are SO insecure.

  4. who says they are unhappy? I think this is a very ignorant statement. I find more people that don't attend church or have a "god" are happier than those that do. And less hypocritical. Think before you insult.

  5. You know them all, and they are unhappy? Otherwise, your question is fallacious.

  6. I was unhappy religious and spiritual.

I am not unhappy because of ideals or idealistic views.  I am unhappy with humanity and the state of the world as I have lived it and continue to live it even now.  But of course, I feel that Truth is more important than happiness and I perceive the Truth as being what is verifiable and tangible through direct interaction.

Truthfully, my religious, idealistic, and spiritual pursuits only served to culminate in a vast array of mental problems and I am now trying a more logical and scientific approach to combat them, hence I became atheist in an attempt to find happiness in a world I despise.  It is something relatively new to me, but so far I feel more stable if not yet happier.  Unlike religious people I will not do something in the hopes of a reward or eternal exaltation.  I can care less if I live to see God, especially if he allegedly denied man the knowledge of good and evil as he did in the story of Adam and Eve in Genesis.  A good or benevolent God would not have anything to hide and therefore would not demand that we not think on what is good or evil... an evil or malevolent God on the other hand... would...

After all, if you don't currently possess the knowledge of good or evil then how can you assure that what you are serving is truly good?  And truthfully, it takes more guts to defy a God who is passing himself off as good but is actually evil than to conform to his demands and gain unjust rewards.  I am one such person who would defy even God if I believed he was evil so that we may overrule all tyranny and repair the state of the universe for the betterment of all, and not just myself...  But that is just in the case that any of it bears any truth whatsoever...

  7. I'm not unhappy, and I'm an atheist. i love life and all the wonders of it, trying the figure out all the mysteries and puzzles given to us. Granted, at one point of my life i was extremely unhappy, but I've gained faith in myself and humanity, instead of an omnipotent being.

So dont paint an entire group with the same brush. I dont need to tell you how stupid that is, but apparently you're god still does... How does it make you feel that you're entire life is goverened by a book which may or may not have been inspired by god? I'm guessing it makes you feel secure, like you can't be blamed wrong for any of you're choices, because ultimately their not even yours.

To me, thats pretty sad. You might as well be not even alive.

Have a nice day! Or does god need to tell you that as well?

  8. We aren't unhappy at all.  We are free from the guilt and fear of todays religions.  I personally feel and have observed that the vast majority of christians that I know are much more sad and scared of life in general due to the pressure of the church leaders they place themselves under.  I will also go on to say that of the athiests I know and the religious people I know the athiest live by a much higher moral standard.  We are good people because we want to be and not because we feel forced.

  9. Happiness is a mental state achieved when your values are preserved or attained. Anybody, religious or not, who has values is capable of becoming happy.

Atheists tend to focus on values that are achievable in life...love, professional respect, skill in a certain hobby, to cultivate strong friendships....if it's realistic, it's likely that somebody, somewhere, is focusing on achieving or maintaining it. As they do so, happiness inevitably creeps into life.

Theists have values that are based in the here-and-now as well. They just add an additional dimension. As they work within this added dimension, they become happy.

But to make the claim that this added dimension is the only source of happiness just because it's the area of life you have to focus upon is absurd.

I feel a great amount of pride and joy in maintaining my saltwater aquarium, but I certainly don't think that anybody who doesn't enjoy the wide world of aquaria must be unhappy.

  10. lol..  not me..!!  I am very happy & love living knowing REALITY..   I could NOT live a lie...  not a world of MYTHS.

    Happy ATHEIST  : - )

    ME..!!!

  11. Ha! Why are atheists so unhappy?

    1. When they die they have nothing to look forward to, well perhaps they do if you call becoming compost a "high point"

    2. They are usually atheists because they are rebelling against something, they are angry at the Church or God because something happened in their lives that gives them a feeling that if such a terrible thing can happen, then there is no God.

    3.  They have no reason to live other than to "live" since they have no God, nor moral standards to live by (despite the fact that atheists have determined a kind of "ethical" code in order to prevent fellow atheist from creating chaos in society).  How boarding and meanness life is when you wander about thinking that you were created by some accidental event?

However, everyone is entitled to their choice in beliefs, and if someone chooses to be an unhappy atheist then so be it!

  12. I don't believe all atheists are unhappy.  I just don't like it when they mock people of faith.  When I mean faith I mean all religions and many do not respect us and many go on the spiritual sites and make fun of us.  I was an atheist and I NEVER mocked anyones faith.  I am a Mormon and I do not go knocking on other peoples doors and I do not push my beliefs.  I have my personal reasons.  I do notice that many atheists are meaner than people of any faith and that includes them mocking Muslims, Hindu, and Buddhists.

  13. im always happy. why do you people think religion or god are the only happiness there is? i am happy everyday, i am realistic every moment of my life unlike many who depend on miracles, is all personality people!!!! god might exist but religion and other things are bullshit

  14. Maybe it's because theists keep making up derogatory lies about us, for instance that we're all unhappy for some reason.

  15. 1. They can be unhappy because they WANT a god to exist but know its not true.

    2. They secretly do believe in god but their life sucks so they choose to say they dont.

    3. They are acctually happy because they know the truth (in their opinion).

  16. Im not unhappy...In fact I couldn't be happier right now!

  17. I don't seek to attain happiness, but to avoid unhappiness. It's a subtle distinction, I realized, but a valid one, I think.

  18. i think cuz people who believe in god know that there are better things out there. and people who don't believe in god know that there isn't anything better. So they are sad :-(

  19. im happy...

i have one guess why non-athiests are happy though: ignorance is bliss

  20. You see them the way that you want to see them.

They are no more or less happy than anyone else.

    Love and blessings Don

  21. You can't generalize all the people from one group, that's called bigotry.  jesus was definitely NOT a bigot, He took the time to look at each person for who they were, and to LOVE them for who they were, no matter who or what they were.

  22. then you are implying non-atheist are all very happy?

  23. Because Jesus doesn't want them for a sunbeam, and Satan is stoking up the Furnace to fry their everlasting souls. Haa ha haa haa hhaaaaa.

  24. They get fed up of religious nuts shoving doctrine down their throats

  25. Why do you generalize?

I'm happy and I'm an Atheist. I just find it irritating when people used flawed logic to try to prove their belief in a magical man in the sky.

Otherwise I'm a pretty happy person.

EDIT: And looking back at your previous questions you seem like an unhappy kid. Don't take your angst out on us thanks!

    :)

  26. Says who?

I'm quite happy, thanks. Hope you're the same.

  27. I'm an atheist, and I'm quite happy.

But besides the fact that your question is patently invalid, I'd say that if an atheist is spiritually troubled, it's likely because they have the courage to confront the fact that no one knows the Big Answers of life.

This question is like me asking why theists are always planting IEDs to kill soldiers.

  28. i hate atheists

  29. Because they have nothing to look forward to.
