Okay, so I'm a huge car fan. I love cars. But as I was reading the August issue of Car and Driver, reading about the 2009 model year cars and beyond, I've noticed almost every car is getting an increase in power output. Even smaller cars that are suppose to fuel efficient are getting more power. What is wrong with automakers today. It's no wonder American car manufacturers are going down the drain. And I'm a Ford person. Here are a few examples:

Acura: 290 hp in a small sedan

BMW: a 300 hp Z4 up from 230.

GMs Acadia, Outlook, Traverse, Enclacve gets 13 more hp

Chevy Camaro will have a 300 hp V6.

A V-8 in a Chevy colorado

Chrysler Aspen gets 10 more, now 400hp

300c now comes standard with 359 hp.

I could go on forever.

  1. Because they've had all these in the planning stages for at least 2 years. It will be another 2 years before we see cars coming out with a concentration on improved fuel economy.

The question is, do the automakers have enough cash laying around to keep afloat until they start making cars people want to buy again?

  2. Personally American Cars suck just because a car has more power doesnt mean it wastes more gas

  3. MPG usually increases too. It's technology.

I haven't read the august issue yet.
