  1. Because it's the new style for basketball. They used to wear short shorts but now it's weird for basketball players to wear short shorts. I believe the last player to wear short shorts going into the 21st century was John Stockton of the Utah Jazz.

  2. cause no one likes man legs

  3. The Michigan Fab Five (CWebb, Jalen Rose..) started the trend back in '92.  If you have ever seen the old short shorts, you will realize why the fad stuck.

  4. I don't know, they used to be short.

  5. I'm not sure. But basketball shorts are nicee. I love my uniform ones. Hmmmm.... Soft as silk...

  6. Well, I am not sure, but basketball players are getting higher and higher... so maybe someone decided to have their shorts growing longer, too.

  7. because the old shorts were like cheerleader shorts no offense to cheerleaders i think i love my bball shorts  silk but i hate the static

  8. ITS NOT LIKE IT HELPS THE GAME OR ANYTHING ITS JUST A TREND AND JUST GREW BIG.. started with short shorts backin the day then once you see players slowly wanted to make it a little bigger it then comes to what it is now...

  9. Because of hip hop culture generally because a lot of rappers wear shorts that go well below the knee.

Basketball wise, the Michigan teams in the early 1990's were the first college basketball team to wear the knee length shorts that we see today.  This soon caught on with other colleges and the NBA soon after that.
