  1. not just animals humans too. the bees all sting at once specially the killer bees ,,, why do you think they got their name... too many stings at one time is too much for our body to handle this gos for animals *** well the poison stops your heart and that's it... you die,,, even lethal if you are allergic to bee stings...

  2. one bee sting will not do much damage....  the usually roll deep

  3. The story you saw was probably refgarding africanized honey bees, as European honey bees (the kind kept by beekeepers in the USA) will generally only sting on-masse if you mess with the hive. Africanized bees, on the other hand, will attack in hoards with thousands of bees  leaving the hive in seconds to sting.  It is also possible that one of the animals laid on top of a yellow jacket nest - they look like bees and live in holes in the ground and are very protective of their nests.

Death ususally happens due to the bees stinging inside ht mouth and nasal passages.  They are drawn to the carbon dioxide exhaled as part of breathing.  Only a couple of stings inside these sensitive areas will cause enough swelling to cause suffocation.

Also. jsut one sting anywhere on the body will cause an allergic person to go into anaphaactic shock which can cause death in munites without immediate treatment.

  4. Bees have evolved to protect their hives from mammals such as bears that consume honey.  A sting that is formulated to take on a bear is more than enough to harm a human.  Unless you have an allergic reaction a couple of stings will be nothing more than a painful annoyance.  But, if you get stung a few hundred times your body can't deal with that much toxin...
