  1. Black people usually have fast twitch muscles fibres. Which means that they are good for going for a short amount of time, such as sprinting. They are good at team sports such as basketball because their muscles fibres help them jump higher than white people.

  2. Jeremy wariner(white) - Wariner wins 400 with top time in world this year

Larry Bird (white) - One of all time best BBall Players

Dirk Nowitski(white) - MVP of NBA last year

Brett Farve, Joe Montana, Troy Aikman(all White) - Best QB's ever

Josh hamilton(white) - considered best all around player in MLB this year

Shall I go on. Take another look.  It's not race, every race is well represented.  Goes back to hard work and dedication and with that any race can be the best.

  3. lOls

honestly i don't know. i wondered about that too.

  4. They are genetically built better than white people.  Why do you think the best athletes are black - In every sport.  Wait until they take over hockey! lol -

  5. i think that black people have more muscle mass than other races. but i always wondered that too.

  6. true true. Historically black people have higher physical capacities than other races.  This can even be explained by slavery.  In the US, the settlers started enslaving American Indians first (but except for smallpox) found that African slaves were able to handle more physical work.

  7. There are 2 ways at looking at this answers -- nature versus nurture.

From a genetic perspective, you cannot tell the difference between muscle fiber of any race or gender for that matter.

From a nurture perspective, I believe this may be where the answer lies.  Studies are showing that babies are born with all fast twitch muscles.  It is believed that depending on what they do, will determine how many of those fibers turn into slow twitch muscles (i.e. aerobic used for long distance running).  Given that, I find that white kids are more likely to take up jogging or long distance bike riding.  If I go into a predominantly white neighborhood, I will see more jogging than fast twitch sports on average.  If I go into a predominantly black neighborhood, I find that I see more fast twitch activities.  I have talked with hundreds of parents about their children and athletics and I also see this in how they talk.  White parents are more likely to believe that their kid needs to work on their endurance for (name your sport) by running miles.  Whereas black parents are more likely to encourage their children to play the sport more.  These are definitely generalities and I can cite numerous examples to the otherwise, but in general I believe there is some truth in there..

Also, I see discrimination on both sides.  White guys can't jump.  Used to be you never saw a black quarterback.  Obviously there are examples of both of these not being true.  I see coaches that base their decisions based on color all the time.  I was a tall lanky white guy who had to fight to be a sprinter.  Coach wanted me to be an 800m or above runner.  I went to the finals at State as a sprinter.  I see black athletes that are pidgeon holed at a position in much the same manner.  Some fight some do not.

Then you can look at the famous African distance runners, they are being trained at an early age for distance runners.  I think this also helps build my theory.  Basically the more you train correctly, the better the athletes are going to be.  The US had great tennis training centers years ago that started the athletes at a young age.  Predomindantly the athletes were white, but Michael Chang was a very fast tennis player.  I knew a coach who worked with many top athletes and he said that in a 10 yd run, Michael Chang was by far the fastest he ever timed.  He also started early and was trained correctly.

So in the end, I believe it is more how the person is raised versus skin color.  I think that the same can be said if you went along gender lines too.
