Why are black people good in running?

Why are black people so good in running? In the olympics for example, they have at least 3 gold medals from "african" decendent.

because culturally we have more rhythm.  And running fast takes rhythm and coordination.

Okay, I don't know whether to be offended by this question or what. But that is just stereotyping, not all of us are good in running. On the other hand, we are into sports, which mean we train out alot.

I believe it dates back to the slavery days. Back then black people were forced to work harder, and run faster if they wanted to get away. I believe the strength just got passed down through the generations. See, so black people shouldn't be so d**n mad at white people!

Genetics.

Blacks are awesome at at running and running events.

Asians are awesome at table tennis and badminton.

Whites are awesome at swimming and gymnastics.

At least 3 gold medals! HA! Jamaica has been kicking butt! And the gold medals Jamaica hasn't got has been received by African Americans, I've seen an Afro-Cuban (Robles), Black Briton (Danvers), Black Frenchmen, Ethiopians!

The USA had swimming on lock! (Congrats Phelps!)

China had gymnastics on lock!

And Jamaica has had track on lock!

That said, I think countries focus a lot of their money on certain programs. More Money equals better Gear and Training.

But why are they so good? Well they are Olympians. They have been training for AT LEAST 4 years. And people of African descent tend to live in some of the hottest and humidest places in the world.

Even in the USA, the majority of Blacks still live in the South. So you prepare in some of the most ANTI-ATHLETIC weather in the world... then take the games to a more comfortable climate. And ya breeze through it!

Anyway, when white people used black's as slaves they chose the fittest, most strongest ones to do all their dirty work. (Like selective breeding) and it has been passed down to some of the lucky ones.

In their genetics, their ancestors (from africa) had to withstand very harsh climates and enviroments and therefore requires a body to counter these obstacles.

Not all are, obviously.   The Olympians of African descent simply train harder and some might have a slight physical advantage over others.
