  1. because that is the part of Brazil that was settled first, and transportation was easiest there. But there are some exceptions, such as Sao Paulo, Belo Horizonte, and Manaus.

    And, as the transportation infrastructure has improved, and with government encouragements, settlement has moved inland further.....such as with Brasilia, which was a planned city in the interior, as a way to encourage settlement.


  2. Most of the largest cities are located on the coast because it is open for trading or fishing has a big part on their industry. Most cities also offer beaches for their country's tourism.

    At the old times, people would exchange their items called "barter". So other countries who have traded with Brazil might have bartered in those cities which are located on the coast.

  4. I'm brazilian. Note that our settlers was portugueses came from Europe by ship in 1500 d.C.. Then, was a natural the fact that our first villages, tonws and cities be near the ocean, because the portugueses had a diffiucult to penetrate the forrest and they needed do ithis, with thousand of canibal indigenous who lived here 500 years before us...
