Why are canadians unable to open accounts with U.S.A based horse betting sites, such as expressbet and youbet?

  1. As far as I know a legal way around is to have either:  A): three utility bills in your name with a U.S. address B): A driver's license in a U.S. State.  But it's a moot point as they will probably check your computer to see where your connection is and they will DEFINITELY check to see where a phone call has been placed and will lock you out for fear of getting themselves charged with a crime, so to execute this you would have to be in the States, i.e., cross the border each and every time you wager.  I personally do not understand this narrow-minded viewpoint - personally, I'd like to be able to wager while on vacation in Paris - to me it's just like trading stocks, only with less risk! BTW I have heard there is a web-site based in the Philippines that lets you "blind" wager by "patterns" but I have forgotten their name - they seemingly take clients from around the world.


  2. Nope.  A new law was passed in Canada a few years ago that forced me to close my Canadian based account with HPI.
