I thought usually pre-owned cars were the ones that just got off lease and/or demo cars. But aren't leases usually more than 1 year? Are these pre-owned cars lemons?

I was looking through BMW inventory.

  1. That is a little strange. Maybe it's people who bought them and returned them because they couldn't stand the annoying iDrive. I recently test-drove a 335i and didn't buy just because of the iDrive.

Yes, leases are for a minimum of 2 years. They could be loaners or demo cars but demo cars are usually sold as new because they've never been registered.

  2. A 2008 pre-owned could be a repo, demo, corporate car or rental.

We will be seeing alot of repos in the future.

Pre-owned just means that they have already been retailed and on the street. Every used car is pre-owned.

  3. How do you know these cars weren't demos? Or weren't loaner cars or rental vehicles??? I'm pretty sure that once a car hits a certain amount of milage that it has to be determined a pre-owned vehicle vs a new vehicle that should only have a couple hundred miles or less on it. Does that make sense???
