  1. All taxi's and car services are expensive. They provide a service.  A general rule of thumb for taxi is $2.50 1st mile, and then 1.00 mile thereafter, additional persons  $1 each person ....waiting time is generally $1/minute.  They provide car, gas, driver and insurance.  It is outrageous to you, but not really when you factor in the price of all involved. If you think it is so cheap or such as encellent way to make money, why not start your own business and charge less so it is more feasable for everyone.

  2. time and vehicle....you want to go somewhere...the cab comes and gets me...12 miles from town...i go to town dad get dropped 12 More miles...i go home 24 mile round trip for taxi... about 50 miles in all at 50 cents a mile25 dollars for the car... and an hour for driver...15 dollars...total 40 dollars for a trip to supermarket or DR....

  3. You are paying for the car, all the expenses associated with the car, and for the driver's time.  And you aren't just paying for the time he has you in the car.  In most cases, he has to do more driving and spend more time before getting another passenger. Oh, and on top of all that, there has to be some profit for the taxi company.

If you think that it is so much money, then consider getting a car and running your own taxi service.  Once you get your business plan and budget together, that $20 will not seem like so much money.
