Why are cashiers treated like the scum of the earth?

I can't believe how bad these people get treated.

I always try to be respectful to cashiers...I know they're sometimes overworked and tired. Some people just don't have manners.

Because they are working in a low paying job, and all that counts these days is money and position. Oh, yeah, youth and good looks, too. However, did you see or read The Mist? One of the real brains and heroes of the story was a 'mere' bag boy. At least Stephen King appreciates the honest worker and doesn't tag him/her with a lower-class, lower-intellect label just because (s)he's not wearing Armani, shaking hands with the cream of the corporate crop, and getting paid about 10,000 times what they're worth.

Those people who mistreat or look down on the cashier or anyone else serving the public are mean-spirited idiots who haven't figured out that life is full of twists and turns, and that someday they too might be looking for a job, any job, to pay the rent. THEY are the ones who lack dignity, not the ones they belittle.

because dont like giving money .... what ever they get in return and cashiers are seen as the monsters that take away their money

Im a cashier and guess ppl  feel like they  can tlk to me r treat me any kind of cuz of there own stupidy. but I think ppl that work at resturaunts have it worse

i used to cashier at marshall's wow that was an experience on average i would encounter 10 mental customers a day they did not pay me enough for that bs.

Cashiers are just one of MANY type of workers that are treated like c**p.
